and no I dont know the VIN before the ghouls start asking. Ferrari built to celebrate car maker's 50th anniversary damaged | Daily Mail Online
Car is well know. Should be easy to have the SN. Owner owns (owned?) some very cool cars and tracks them. That F50 was at Spa a few weeks ago. Hopefully it will be fixed well and back on track.
Ah didnt realise it had already been posted elsewhere, mods please feel free to delete this thread if you wish
S/n this, s/n that......blah de blah de blah. Shame it was a silver one. Personally I'd respray it azurro California
I have seen one Azzuro California, here on Fchat. I haven't seen one until i saw it here. Stunning colour. The thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/288gto-f40-f50-enzo-laferrari/238043-azzuro-f50-image-needed.html
Serial numbers are important. I'm certain that if you were buying an F50, you'd be very interested in which serial number it was.
Multiple sources support that the silver F50 recently crashed on A43 is the same on that was at Spa a few months ago. I don't know if there are two silver F50s in England (let alone the UK), but I really doubt there were two silver F50s at Spa a few months ago. Can you provide us with a credible source that disputes the crashed F50 is not the same one seen at Spa a few months ago? Ain't that always the case? No one sees, or wants to see, the importance in serial numbers and/or serial number cultivation - that is until they're in the market, and they want to dig up every piece of information available on that car; including information not available through official channels.
Totally agree Joe however on the downside is the immediate publicity of someones nightmare, sometimes within 5 minutes of it happening. Then most likely wrongful identification, abuse of owner, probably the wrong owner etc etc. I know I what you meant though.......I just hate speculation
I know the owner of the car that was at Spa and run by Tim Samways as the owners track day car and I texted him when I saw this, he confirmed it was not his car.
Is there any other information to corroborate this assertion? Additionally, what other silver F50s are in the UK?
Let us first start with the fact that there is no other known silver F50 even having been seen in the UK, let alone registered. Now onto other facts... One of my assets saw the silver F50 in question, 107050 (311/349), 22 September 2014, at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium; it was wearing UK plates: R146 MBC. In the first picture below, you'll see the aforementioned F50, with two stickers at the base of the windshield on the passenger's side. The mostly whitish round sticker, affixed under the windshield, is an RMA 2006 trackday pass (or something to that effect). The mostly red rectangular sticker, affixed to the outside of the windshield, is an on-the-day pass (which is why you won't see it in the second picture). In the second picture, blown up for your edification, you'll see a picture of the silver F50 that crashed on A43, 23 October 2014, wearing the same RMA sticker mentioned earlier. Indeed you're right about one thing: the silver F50, 107050, is prepared/stored by Tim Samways Racing in Banbury. In one of the photos of the crash, one of the older gentlemen in the background was also present at the trackday. In the third picture below, you'll see a closeup of the crashed F50's UK registration: R146 MBC - the same as the silver F50, 107050, seen at Spa a month before the crash. Ergo, the silver F50 that was seen at Spa, 22 September 2014, s/n 107050, is the same silver F50 that crashed on A43, 23 October 2014. So either you're being lied to, or you're the one lying. Thanks, Joe; and I extend your thanks to my ever-expanding global network of assets, without whom discoveries like this would not be possible.
If the registration numbers match then it's the same car indeed and I stand corrected and my friend is not admitting to this! I sent him a text saying: How's your F50? "What a bizarre question! Unless something happened to it in the last few days last time I saw it was very healthy, why?" (Sent him the link) "Haha that looks remarkably like ours! Ours has uk plates though (assuming he means front) Ha to be fair could have been me have pounded that road many times in that car" I haven't spoken to him since so I guess he might not have known at that time (day after I think) but maybe there is something else afoot. Either way sad for the car.
