Doctor, your backyard is a painting. How did you make your Mondial look as if it was a photograph ? Stunning, mate, Hank
GORGEOUS Dr. Jay! You have a beautiful backyard to play in indeed! We haven't had the color change yet, my guess is a few more weeks for it to hit Shenandoah Skyline Drive which is about an hour west of me. Cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login
66f and cloudy but I did get to wash and take the kids for ice cream btw, stop to get gas, the fellow behind me asked, is Robin01 referring to the Magnum PI show, I said yes but its not a 308, its a Mondial so I can bring along my kids!!! Stopped by GameStop and all the boys swarmed the car! Yes, the Mondial is a great Ferrari all around and boy do I miss the sound after not driving it for weeks, amazing! Thanks buddy! Wanna know my secret? Don't wash it! Not the only car to have a good photo day..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why haven't you been driving the car? Have you been having issues.....maybe I missed it? The weather is certainly coming into prime driving time here on the East Coast.
No Issues Bill, car runs beautifully, I have 8 cars, 2 businesses to run and I'm a full time IT Manager! Too damn busy these days, but I'll take it to Cars n Coffee tomorrow! Cheers
Cars n Coffee this morning... Nice beautiful but chilly day in Virginia. First time in Fall 2014 I had to put the top up before driving! CHEERS, Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a satisfying feeling when people walk past new Porsches, R8's, GT-R's and other new exotics and come straight to these "old" Ferrari's.
Yes so true Bill, just being a Ferrari, most people flock to it! I also have to say, owning a Ferrari is a great Networking tool as well. I've met so many interesting people thru the years from different backgrounds that have influenced me to be a better well rounded and knowledgeable person in my personal life as well as business. I get more compliment on the Mondial than the 348. I guess more people appreciate the old school Ferraris.
Mike - is that just a trick of the light/photo, or is that 308 a very different shade red to yours? My parents are travelling through Virginia now for their 50th wedding anniversary vacation, specifically to soak up all those autumn colours (although in a rental, not a Ferrari!).
This is our Bagel and Coffee gathering on Long Island today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave, I believe its just the sunlight, but they do appear to be the same color code of Rosso Corsa 300/9. Here are a few more pics this morning. cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Mike, yes now they look the same! Its great to hear in these posts that our Mondials get the attention they deserve, even amongst such esteemed company.
You're kidding that you had to put the top up! The heater is excellent and the more you drive, the more comfy it is.
Hey Jay, you're right I've been out with the top down when it was in the 40s before. This morning was around 45f & windy but it did warm up nicely to 59f I tell you guys what though, the engine loves this weather, you can hear the air suck in as the RPMs climb 3k-6k What an intoxicating sound isn't it ? Cheers, Mike
Robin has moved the furniture - - right?? I like it much better than the totally off balance plate placement of the past. Apparently, we agree BTW, take some side shots of Robin with her top in the "show time" (up) position. It's a stunning profile. Cheers, Hankie
Here in NY, a front plate is required and local law enforcement does check and ticket for not having it properly mounted. I'm too paranoid to run without the plate. LOL But anyway, I bought a custom plate holder made for the Mondial. It uses the threaded tow hook hole to mount the bracket. Found it here: Dynamic Technology Group
Come to think of it Hank, I do not have any good side views of my car with top up! 3+ years of ownership and its mostly been top down. I will have to get a nice profile next time I'm out! One of the reasons I love the cabriolet, its a 2 for one look Ferrari. Cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the license plate link David, I was looking for the tow hook holder 3 years ago but ended up getting a quick release from a guy that use to sell it via BirdmanFerrari website, but the link is no longer valid now. So he might be out of business, IDK. Image Unavailable, Please Login
BTW, from time to time, a great idea pops in my head and I create prototypes. I've invented 3 things so far on my spare time, patent pending... This morning, I just realized that there is a need for license plate covering, so I am working on a quick release prototype that will allow you to place a solid covering over your license plate number when parked at car shows/C&C and never have to worry about being in photos or tracked by law enforcement while in the parking lot. Obviously, you will need to remove the covering when you are ready to drive the car home. I'll publish a prototype in a few weeks, you guys let me know if its something you would be interested in buying and we'll set a price. Cheers
So happy to be in an intelligent state that doesn't require a front plate, but even when I wasn't (IL) I never put one on and took my chances. .
