You really need to read "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. Otherwise, you are going to be too old by the time you every make a decision. Analysis paralysis.
Now you're being mean spirited. Do you realize how hard it must be on this poor man-child who's been living in his Mom's basement for the past eight and a half years, or maybe even more? And who knows how many more years he has to go?
As a certified "car life harmony coach", I suggest you get a red, tan 360 Modena with a manual shifter. It matches your posts in 113 loving dimensions. Seriously, it is a lot of car for the money! We are not getting any younger and interest rates are low!! Banks are giving loans for old cars. See penfed credit union or suntrust bank. Even if you have the money, it might be better to keep it in the bank. I bought my car 10 years ago and have never looked back!
**** or get off the pot as they say. I get that it can be hard to decide. And tough to convince yourself to act. For me it was a 348 or a 360 and the financial concerns that went with it. It's simple, you can commit.. or not. If the idea of owning a Ferrari is what moves you, then by all means keep shopping... just don't represent yourself as more than that to others. I personally don't take people who are "shopping" for a Ferrari more than year seriously. It's time to get serious about buying one and stop wasting time. Life is too short.
Mark, if someone posted on/off/on/off on Rennlist (wild assumption that's the one you refer to) over 8 years about buying a 911 and then comes in with "I don't have a garage but I think i'm going to buy a house at the same time as the car, maybe i'll buy two cars, and it will have a garage"... it would not go well.
Gary Your probably right (I was actually referring to Ferrari life*,ford GT and lambo power forums) but the general consensus on a lot of other forums is that there are too many poseurs and outright *******s here. I have been on this forum (off and on - but that's another story lol) for 7 years or so and find these kind of "who do you think YOU are" attacks to be far mote prevalent here than other venues. Just sayin...
Not to add to much confusion to this guy as he might go looking for a Aston Martin DB9 Vantage next. That would be a really rare car.
As a certified "car life harmony coach", I suggest you get a red, tan 360 Modena with a manual shifter. Agree!
Another black one from Florida had been wrecked in the nose ($96K). At sub-$100K, you get what you pay for.
This was a tough decision for me. I made it all of about 3 weeks. Had I waited much longer it could have turned to years. My problem was I thought every 360 was beautiful. I needed to buy about 5 of them. My wife actually pushed me to make the move. She was tired of hearing about it and told me to #@$@ or get off the pot. (I dreamed on cars.com for about a year before truly looking)
+1 I was kind of reaching for a CS or maybe a Scud. After a month or two, I decided to just get something now, I purchased a 360 in a few days. I know you have to wait sometimes if you get picky about options, etc. But if you wanted a nice 360 tomorrow, there are a few available.
So moving on...... Are we finding you a house now, or still a car ? Or both...... Seriously dude, if you have the means, pull the trigger, if you don't stop acting like you do. Keep the M3 for a daily, buy a 360 for $70 K. Financing ? Pen Fed has great rates, finances 360 's. Garage is not required, ways around that, be creative. Your move.
I think the anonymity of the web allows people to approach the dream and people who have achieved it, without ever actually doing anything as well as interacting with people they never would be able to approach in the real world. It also creates an 'information constipation' situation, and again nothing ever really happens. I had always loved exotics as a kid. Hoped that I may get one someday. Was constantly told I was a 'pipe dreamer' by the parents and to stop being a loser and get a life. I got on with life and before I knew it, I took a look at my finances and thought, "Holy ****, I can get a Ferrari"! I did some shopping and Voila! Ferrari in the garage! (Yes.... garage). My point is, just go do it, and make it a reality...... if you can, and stop asking a bunch anonymous strangers what they think. At the end of the day, it's your decision and your car. Who cares what we think?
When I was a student in college I wanted a Mondial. I imagined myself driving up and down the Palisades Parkway in Ny in it. I probably COULD have had one as my DD and covered it in the student parking lot... but they really are better second cars stored in the garage.
