Yes, they were slow to inform people whether they are in or out! I am in with my OSCA MT4 1953. Next year, perhaps with my Boano 57? The point with changing the schedule should have been to allow more "social" contacts between participants, with enough time for diner (rather than arriving at 2:00am for a start next day at 8:00am). they could have done it with less waiting time at check-points or times events. Instead, they decided to spread it over four days but....added several new trials, so back to square one: no real opportunity to talk to other participant and make new friends! Otherwise, the new organization seems very similar to the MAC Group organization...except with no jackets and other goodies. The jackets were really great, and I still use them. A concern is the take-over of the event by car manufacturers (Mercedes, BMW, Audi) and the increasing 'influence' of a certain nationality on the event. Let us see how it works out this year! Also, this year, they have not published the list of participants, which is a pity, as it allows to make some contacts prior to departure and meet in Brescia.
Ananda, The list is set to release mid April I have been told, along with starting times. I guess we will be driving nose to nose, my 52 and your 53 osca. I think this year the route us about 100km longer then previous years, amounting to more then 1600 km. Also, no Florence this year but Pisa should be an interesting diversion, along with bassano del grappa in the first evening. Variety is always fun. Elad
To those who are in: congratulations! I'll be there as press and the participants list should be made available in the MM website's press area. I'll post the Ferraris here as soon as I have the information. I still don't know where the lunch stop on Friday will be. Any of you know? Thanks! Best, Peter
Here's a provisional list of the Ferrari participants. 20 Ferraris. There are 46 Mercedes cars entered, including 30 Gullwings... *sigh* I used to live in Desenzano Del Garda and one of the highlights used to be dragging the bbq down to the road side on Via Francesco Agello and watching the amazing cars drive by. Now i live in Utah. *sigh*
This year there will once again be a Ferrari Tribute to the Mille Miglia. There's some more information about the programme. The lunch stop on Friday will be in San Marino. I wonder where they will park the participants and spectators? As far as I know the old town center of San Marino is a no entry zone for cars.
I plan to watch you folks all drive by on the Via Flaminia in Riano (North of Rome), and then again at Vallelunga on saturday morning. Looking forward to the MM !!!!
