I love the idea of your big surprise in re-uniting George with the C/4 that he cared for over a quarter of a century. I am sure it will be a huge surprise of happiness now that his car will be in your hands.

C/4s are great cars for a traveling. Nearly 34 years ago my wife and I did our driving honeymoon in a C/4.

May the car bring you many years of miles and travels.

That's a great story. I must admit to being somewhat jealous. I am waiting to take delivery of #14503 in early May. It looks like you will have a couple of more weeks of fun ahead of me. Drive safe and be well.

This must be one of the best Ferrari owner stories. Needs toooo be a made into a movie staring say Clint Eastwood as “George” and maybe someone like Gary Sinise as Rob. I can see the tears rolling down “George’s” face now as he confronts his old lost love…..Someone please write a screenplay.

What a fantastic story! Did you purchase the car from John Chaffin? I saw it in December, 2009, up in Carmel when Chaffin had it for sale and photographed it for him. When I saw it, it was silver with black interior, red carpets and it had 8,491 miles. At the time, John had owned it for eight or nine years.

Purchased from David Mohlman (who himself had recently acquired it from Chaffin).

    Hi Carbon,

That should be 108,491 mls I think? Probably the odometer shows only the last 5 digits.
The car was advertised by the first owner in 1996-1997 with 95,000 mls.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

PS: Congratulations to Rob and many thanks for a great story!
