I haven't lived in Texas for very long, so I only remember things like: -The Dryhole running out of gas on a gravel road somewhere west of Granbury -That time when Don and Carolyn only had 4 512M's -When Tillman didn't have personalized plates -Rob getting shot in the @ss in one of those nasty Southlake driveby's -When BigTex used to post A LOT -Poker Night when Tony killed his first 348 (I wasn't there) -The night somebody killed Tony's second 348 (I wasn't there either)
I think he's still around. Haven't seen him lately though. He ended up getting a Lexus after his insurance settled. Working on getting a new business off the ground.
I remember first meeting a lot of y'all at Carson's. I remember being welcomed like an old friend, even though I wasn't even 21 yet. I remember watching my first (and second, and third) F1 races with fellow F-chatters. I remember sitting in my first Lotus Elise thanks to an F-Chatter. I remember being called the Tiger Woods of DFW Spotting. I remember 4 F-chat members showing up to my college graduation party. I remember a guy named CDALLEN2004 and actually meeting him in person at my work. I remember the significant amount of wisdom and insight being provided by F-Chat members regarding my college graduation and job choices. Thank you all!! There's many more...but that's all I'm coming up with for now.
I remember taking Greg Ray out on his orientation drive when he bought the 360 and traded in his 355. I remember moving day from the old store on 75 to the new store in Plano. I remember Brian Stradale placing the order for the Stradale. I also remember the 360 he had before that. I remember when I actually got to be interviewed by Dan Godwin on Fox 4 when they were doing a lifestyles show and did a segment on the F50. I remember a lot of guys on here taking delivery of their cars......... I remember Diane taking me out in her 355 for a "LITTLE spin". I remember when Rob first went upstairs to view the 355 Challenge we was taking delivery of. I remember when you guys came by the Dallas Auto show when we had the Enzo there and a stripper got behind the ropes, sat on the hood of the Enzo and pulled her top up for a photo op. Security!!!! Heck, I remember when NNO, Carbon McCoy, changed his name from Dan. I remember him eating twinkies and drinking cokes at the keyboard of the computer in the insurance office he worked in. Alan Lambo.... I remember having the McLaren F1 for three days and giving over 40 rides in it during that time. I remember when William moved to Fort Worth from Houston to help take care of his mom. May she RIP. I remember the high speed runs across Louisiana being led by the state troopers. Lots more too...............Like getting the pleasure of meeting Marcie and Diane and hanging out with them one day at FoD. And getting to know a lot of you guys.......Thanks for the memories.....
This thread makes me soooo homesick!! I cant believe this was six years ago, but some of you joined me on Race street watching the Band SKid Row from atop of a building... We drove my old lotus around with no headlights... Fun night.. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78707&highlight=skid+row
What a fun day with Rob, Tillman, and Manny, We had a brisk drive, great lunch and Rob took us flying in the afternoon... Great day! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186260&highlight=presidents+day
I remember that! The booth was 'open' until that happened, then it was immediately closed. Somebody re-posted a picture recently of us in front of the Enzo at that car show.
I can remember when Rob was in high school. He would go into his room at night after swim practice and supper, shut the door, and "study". His dad and I discovered, only by accident, that he was ----- guess what? reading about Ferraris and how to fly. Anyone surprised?
I can remember receiving an email from Italy with 3 wedding pictures...and 6 of the Ferrari plant. And cleaning out the duck tape house and shed so there would be a place for the Ferrari. Do you still have any pictures of that snake we found, Rob?
without mentioning the infamous visit from "Wolfie" and his Lufthansa pilot buddy. Pappasito's and The Lodge. The identities of the participants have been changed to protect the innocent. You know who you are.
Well, wave next time! Yep... I drive it to work whenever its sunny and I don't need to carry multiple people to lunch. BUT, I haven't had time to take it to the track or make many events. Sigh... I remember when I could join you all a lot more! I gotta fix that. You are correct... but how do you know that if you were gone? I wanted to attend the show as a spectator and catch up with some F-chatters... was going to hit it between driving two Maserati's (one was at Boardwalk Porsche). We spent a little too long test-driving the first one... so, arrived with only like 5 minutes left... and almost everybody was already gone. Saw a few nice cars, but didn't see anybody I knew. I remember showing up at an event with my CS absolutely filthy... WriterGuy took a pic of my CS that made it look absolutely gorgeous, reflecting the clouds in subtle ways... dirt somehow had vanished. I need to learn that trick... cuz my CS is OFTEN filthy. I remember thinking that I used my 360 a lot... ... and then being thrilled when an F-Chatter (Frances) was willing to buy it despite all that use... ... and then realizing a bit later that she used it way MORE than I ever did!! (applause) I remember tucking myself behind many of you at various rallies just so I could hear the different exhaust notes... I think the sound may be my favorite feature of our F-cars. (And Jano, your blue 348's exhaust note was particularly memorable.) I remember pondering what Carbon McCoy would be like in person (when he was quite the fixture on F-Chat... the epitome of Ferrari fanatic), and then being surprised that he pretty much lived up to his image when I met him in Monterey. I remember meeting many of you at many events... all over Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and even California.
