Daytonas in Rome

When I lived in Rome from 1971 - 1973, the director of our university had two friends with Daytonas. One was yellow (remember it being flooded in March 1972, and it sounded wonderful when the engine cleared!!!), and one that was dark blue with a beige interior. The owner gave me a ride in it, and it was fantastic. In spring 1973, the car was new and had 600 km on the clock.

Just wonder if anyone knows of two Roman cars from this era and where they are now.

Just had a look. The Y letter is late model. Back in 1971, Roma plates were on about H (Sept 1971 - a friend had a 1.3 Lancia Fulvia coupe and it was licensed Roma Hxxxxxx). I suspect this was brought to Rome much later. But who knows.

 

Me too, wish I could see the license plate on it. Makes me wonder if it is the same car that I had a ride in !!

 

The car in which I rode was dark blue and had a beige interior. Its Roma plate must have started with about M or N. I doubt many of that colour lived in Rome at the time. I also remember a red Daytona on the streets.
