Figured I'd give you guys a heads up... Lexus will be bringing the matte-black LFA to the show this weekend Look for the V10 roar at around 6:45ish...
Nope... the matte black production car that was at Sema. Curious - anyone here order one or planning on ordering one? Hope these don't all end up tucked away in collections / garages
I'm in town from Kansas City and am looking forward to coming in to see the show tomorrow. What time do the cars start to roll in usually? Thanks, Robert Monroe
I'm in town for the weekend so I plan to check it out. What's the address for it? I looked on the candcirvine.com site and couldn't find anything. I found this address: 7905 Gateway Blvd., Irvine, CA, 92618 on another forum but its dated 2008 so I don't know how accurate it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
get there at 6:45 am. show starts at 7am people usually roll in early hope you have fun. I'm planning on going to the show with my brother tomorrow morning as well
That's the correct address. Look for the "Mazda" building. If you haven't been before, they don't turn away any cars - so you never know what you will see in the main lot. If you aren't showing off your car, follow the signs to the spectator lot (its right next door) and leave room for the classic and modern F-cars and other amazing cars to park.
Some pics of the LFA from this morning. Definitely glad I chose to wake up at 5AM for this. Thanks Guaruja for the heads up! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You're welcome! Guess it helps when your desk is next to the person who's been scheduling the appearances for this car Here's some of my shots from this morning... http://alrphotography.zenfolio.com/p440543823
Thanks for the pics (except for that 4WD Vette...ugh). The LFA drew one of the biggest crowds around it.
That Lexus is butt-ugly, no offense to anyone who likes it. Man...the Japanese could use some Italian stylists ;-)
Don't know that I'd call it butt ugly, but, it sure is an ungainly beast. The rear viewpoint is particularly awkward-yikes! As an aside, the LFA(Lexus Forced Aesthetics?) fired up and while it didn't sound too bad, I was struck with just how much better the 430 driving out behind it sounded. The boys from Toyota City have a bit more work to do, IMO.
I too was disappointed by the sound of the LFA. While it sounds nice, it's veeery quiet. But nothing an aftermarket exhaust couldn't fix. And I saw how the GT-R and a modded EVO X tried to get him to race them. The LFA kept his cool ..
It looks like a GT-R and A8 got married and had a kid. I was fortunate enough to be at the Tokyo Auto show for the official unveiling. While aesthetics are certainly a personal issue, this car, with it's random spears, spikes, gaping inlets, thick beltline, disjointed angles and a massive rear end(complete with BBQ grill vent screens) disappoints. I'll grant you similarities to a GT-R, but I don't think it compares favorably at all to the Audi(a unique, distinctive design that works). It will be interesting to see if there are many willing to pony up for the Ultimate Toyota at that price point.
I'm sure they'll find buyers - even at the $350k expected price... But, in person, it wasnt as impressive as expected - though it did have a crowd around in on Saturday pretty much the entire time it was there. I almost felt bad for the F40 that rolled in pretty much unoticed. As far as the sound - it had a hint of formula one to it, but it was pretty quiet. Not that it needs to be loud - but I guess I expected something more... ?
