Big deal. They are indeed both local. Cars get crunched, they get fixed.

    +1 Peter's sentiment.

    That's not very nice.

There is some wrong information on the Lamborghini crash. The owner was not driving. He took his car to the Lamborghini Dealership for repairs.

It was crashed before it was retruned to him.

Just to be clear regarding the LP640... it is correct that the owner was not in the car at the time of the crash. Also, it was not anyone at the Lamborghini dealership. It was a third party.

The time lag in having this posted illustrates how much respect we have for the owner-one really first class Italian car guy. Let's hope for all parties involved this works out. To put it in perspective, imagine you hire a contractor, he hires a HVAC contractor who then proceeds to burn your nearly half million dollar house to the ground. Who is responsible?

The Ferrari doesn't look too bad. I wonder what it'll cost to fix.

I can relate: we hired a shipper to ship a 348 to Canada. He had a subcontractor do the shipment for him since he was tied up on the west coast. The sub damaged the car, showed up 3 days late, and shipped it open truck (we paid for enclosed). When he got to the buyer it was midnight on a rainy Sunday night, so the guy didn't see the damage. When he asked about the open truck, he was told "that's what he paid for". He called me on Monday to tell me about the damage and transport, I called them, and my original shipper. Neither replied. eventually, the subcontractor went out of business (or changed his phone numbers), and my contact stopped returning calls. In the end, the buyer had $3000 damage on his car, and way overpaid for the shipping method.... who is responsible?

Luckily with the Merc above, I'm sure there is insurance somewhere along the lines that will cover it.

    David,

It is generally considered rude to post about a local crash unless the member himself has brought up the problem before. It is possible you did not know this, and there is defiantly a time consideration. In my POV, if it has been a year or so, its free game. If in the past few weeks or months, I would not generally post about it.

The owner of the LP is indeed a great guy and one of my real friends. I hope he is doing ok with the problem, and I expect he will prevail in the coming months.
