Rob & I were kicking around the idea of a California Region Forum with the current Norcal (+ Northern Nevada) and Socal forums as sub-forums. This would help provide a single forum for all-California items (e.g. speed laws & front plate laws). This would give a home to the central California guys that are never sure which forum they belong in today. This would help some migrated or transient users who are now posting/scanning both forums. Perhaps some other benefits. Do you think we should give this a try? Comments?
We don't like those namby pamby nor-cal types! Frankly I think this is a good idea. California is arguably the most important market in the US and separating it doesn't make too much sense. Keeping the Northern vs Southern disctinction is important for certain issues and from a "camaraderie" sense with the users, but having it all fit into one state is good. What happend to Nor-Nev tho?
Guess I gotta read the OP thoroughly. I voted no because I thought CA would be one big section (which would be way too much clutter). But, if there will be a sub-forum for just SoCal stuff, then it's cool with me. Can't change a vote, can you?
You're correct, there would be separate Norcal and Socal sub-forums which would maintain the current local groups. There would be an umbrella group for state-wide topics/discussions or regions that didn't feel at home in Norcal or Socal. You can't change your vote (that I know of). We'll just have to take away one from NO and add one to YES, when we close the tally.
Good idea. The SoCal guys could teach the Nor Cal guys how to smoke cigars and go to strip clubs. The Nor Cal guys could teach the SoCal guys how to hug trees and grow things. Also Jason could get all of the Nor Cal and So Cal detailing business !! Regards, Stew
Rob saw the early results (16 Yes to 2 No, adjusted) and decided to call the poll! Looks like it's a go.
I think the SoCal section needs to be broken up in to three sections : Los Angeles (includes SF Valley) Orange County San Diego G
