Nice one mate Thanks for showing them ..I like those arty Mclaren pics gotta say I do think the Mclaren is a great looking car.. Would you go there again..?
The McLaren display was the nicest one and that "color" is just awesome. Ferrari's car was a display car from Bridgestone and a bit dated. The worst was the Toyota, which had a wooden sterring wheel. No I wouldn't go there again. But then again I say that about most GPs. I'm a strong believer in going to different places first. Only for Monaco do I break that rule (been there a couple of times and will go again). Funwise I think Hungaroring GP is better than Monza, Imola and Silverstone, but not as good as Barcelona or Nuerburgring.

Great pics. Thanks. Looks like you were able to shoot from a high enough angle in the front straight to avoid the fence.
The "grand" stands at Hungaroring are temporary constructions and very flat (like Silverstone). Therefore you always have the fence in sight. Also there are many bars supporting the roof and they get in the way. So I ended up shooting diagonally across the fence and had to crop the shots. The best seats in Hungary are Silver 3, which is the open stand in the last turn: Unobstructed view and you can see 1/3 of the track. But after last year's rain I wanted a roof above my head. Not so much for myself, but for my equipment.
Great shots, complement mine just right, which are mostly views of the areas away from the main straight. I reached the same conclusion about Silver 3 and will sit there if I ever go back. I think it's important to remember that Hungary is a poor country that is struggling to recover from 40+ years of communist rule and the track will get improved when the economics justify it.
I am glad that you could get pretty good close-ups from 150mm-200mm zoom range. There's hope for me if I ever go there - my max zoom is 200mm (unless I buy one of those teleconverters).
To me they're more exciting than today's F1 cars. The only bummer was the Arrows where they changed the original paint scheme, poopooh.
Great pics! love the shots of the display cars, and the Red Bull. what model is the Mac display car? over here, they usually display 2 F1 cars max.
Thanks! Dunno what model it is. At USGP they have no display cars . Best experience was Barcelona, they had altogether about 7 cars, some even at the airport.
i think thats some really good way of marketing. we had various roadshows and displays around the city. most of the time, BMW is very aggresive here, because of Petronas. they tour around the country to promote and even have some public show as well.
ING sponsored the GP of Hungary, so you could find bill boards with Renaults all over the town. Gerhard Berger did a neat stunt: He drove a McLaren from his time (think Senna/Prost) along with a STR and a RB across the Chain Bridge (the in place for tourism) on Thursday.
Great pics.... the old cars bring back good memories. Love the Brabham with Parmalat and Pemex as sponsors BTW - Which one is the arrows?
Is this pic for real? (the 2 bulls from the first pic) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=573834&stc=1&d=1187469119 I thought it was a Photoshop'd as a joke... ~shahedc
The red/white "International Grand Prix" car. It should have a beige Barclay's cigarettes paint scheme.
LOL.. well at least the Bulls seem to be keeping busy, while the Red Bull teams are doing poorly.. I was going to say: well at least the Bulls are ----ing, while the Red Bull teams are sucking... not sure if such a post is allowed here though! ~shahedc .
It is not. But it is still funny. Another way to put it: The Red Bull Team screws up while the bulls are simply...
