Yep, as well as Witmeur and Gaban. I think Van de Poele even drove for Van Rossem's Onyx-Moneytron F1 team. Best, Peter
Excellent pics Peter, I had never seen any of those, do you have any other pics apart from the ones earlier in this thread, to me being a huge mondial fan I find their history and this story fascinating
Hi, I'm sorry but that were all the pictures I could find in my files. No, hold on, here's another one from Auto&Sport magazine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No pictures of a Mondial, but related. This is a truck full of seized Ferraris when Van Rossem went bust. There's a real F40, a real SWB, a real 512M, a real Countach Anniversary, a (real?) Cobra and a fake 250 GTO and fake 250 TR. I think later Van Rossem went into Belgian (local?) politics and started a party and immediately bought himself a nice company car: a 456! Once again thanks, although its sad to see one of the Moneytrons in that state, can you give me the date and series number for that mag, also possibly a scan of the cover so I can try and get a copy on ebay or similar, that would be appreciated, Regards Pete
The Zolder race report is Auto & Sport issue #97, 10 May 1990 (8th year) and it has a close-up picture of the rear of the Ferrari Mythos on the front cover. The crashed Mondial picture is Auto & sport issue #98, 24 May 1990 and it has a frontal picture of a green BMW 850 on the front cover and also a red Nissan 300 ZX. Auto & sport was a Belgian (Flemish, so Dutch language) magazine. Best, Peter
That truck load of seized cars would make me break down and cry if I was that guy. So many beautiful and amazing machines on there.....espeically the F40.
By chance I came across these additional pictures on this site: www.racingsportscars.com Best, Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
haha, is this thread still going? it was a great thread indeed, i still yearn for some pics of the cars in their current shape though...
I would have thought they would look very sad now. If they would have been properly saved we would have heard by now.
I found some pictures we were all waiting for. BTW, any updates on these Mondials? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
