    Tender has closed anyway.

Interesting to see where it pops up and for how much.

Great cars C4's. Especially if you have paraplegic children to use the back seats.

One of the sweetest engines, when right. And the power steering so desperately needed on the Daytona.

Personally, I don't think Red is their best colour... the Silver Sheehan one in the link looks nice.

I beg to differ! Daytona steering doesn't desperately need anything, sure its heavy, but it has great feel at high speed whereas the C4 has very little. Even US buyers weren't convinced and the Daytona stayed with manual steering throughout its model run and outsold the C4 (1400 cars vs 500).

In your opinion, you may well be correct, In mine, you're not.

I think I could find a higher % of Daytona owners that wish they had power steering than C4 owners that wish they hadn't...

And I could find a higher percentage of C4 owners who wished they had down draught carbs than Daytona owners who wished they hadn't! Side draughts that cover the exhaust cam....now that was an idea that should have been left to Lamborghini!

But I agree with you that C4's are a good thing. All of the occasion and sensation of a front engined Ferrari V12 at a bargain price.

Haha, yep, won't argue that one at all! Not the discussion point though!

I used to look after a Jag E -type V12 that had a Daytona style 6 pack of Webers... what a weapon (death trap) that was!

I just don't get why this car is being sold this way. I would have thought this particular car was worth $150k. Website ad says offers over $77k. Someone is going to get a bargain. Just doesn't seem right

Nothing wrong with a bargain. It seems they want to make a sale quickly and what better way to get a quick sale than to put a SELLING price on it.

Whilst the car looks in good nick, it ain't a spring chicken anymore with the age and mileage.

This car was on Oldtimers website for a very long, long time at $125k. I think it would have sold for closer the $110 mark.

The receiver is pursuing legal action to get it "unsold". The buyer was a well known broker in Sydney, who told them (falsely) that he was paying $5K more than it was worth. The tender was still in progress when they took the offer, so there are implications there as well.

Its a great shame that the classic car market is so full of sharks, appoint someone knowledgable to sort out your cars in your will, so that your wife or family don't get the added misery of dealing with scumbags.

Yep, his reputation goes far and wide!

Years ago, I got a call from Ben Lexcen's widow just after he died. Mr Gucci was at her front door offering to help her out by taking his Boxer off her hands. Needless to say, the price offerred was way low and the club helped her to eventually get its real value.

Yes, lots of stories going back several decades. So how do they remain in the trade successfully for so long?

I'd love to see how the car looks today, can you post a pic? In the 80's it was orange with a removable roof panel similar to a Porsche 924 (but not that well done) and a 512 rear clip with 4-exit exhaust. ie. a bit of a hot rod but Ben loved it.

I'm not fond of appearing in courtrooms so I won't elaborate on Mr Gucci here. I would caution others against publishing his name also. Will send you a PM.

Car brokers are the same all the world over, its a nasty business in which nice guys only lose.
