LOL - I'll bet somebody buys it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2460905365
I think I saw the other half on Ebay a year or two ago. The guy that bought that half might be interested in this half. Could you make it roadworthy if you have both halves? This reminds me of those guys that cannot fix Ferraris they bought cheap, so they saw them in half and sell them on Ebay. You buy both halves in the same auction, so why do they saw them in half? Are that spiteful that they want to cost you the extra money to mend the frame and have to buy all new parts that they cut.
How mad is that......... the colour-coded bumpers have been done well though...... with no signs of chipping!! bet it handles like s..te!! LOL.....
I think it is cool. That would be sweet against a wall in a big game room or in a restaurant waiting area. There is a restaurant near us that has a gutted VW van inside. The front drivers area is for the kdis to play in and the back has all the A/V equipment for the restaurant/bar. -John
Yeah I saw that a few days ago. I had the same thought that it would look good in a sports bar or a restaurant, but thats about all you could do with it. I wonder why someone would do that to it, must have been a true divorce sale and split all the assets right down the middle. Its actually kinda sad to see that beautiful car like that. Also, Its a cabriolet and he says its an '81. I thought they didnt have the cabrio until '83? Am I wrong?
Does this qualify as a "no stories" car? Make sure to do a PPI. Make sure you save an extra $5k for maintenance/repairs. The miles look legit, so no fear of odomoter rollback. As long as you keep everyone on your left, no worries.
Well, the buyer won't have to worry about a major service on this one. 4K for a good door & inside door panel, fender, quarter, grate, (2)wheels, driver's seat, steering column, a couple of tail lights, & instrument cluster.
maybe this is an extreme way of avoiding timming belt trouble, cut car in half, throw away half with belts, no more problems
I bought my 308 from the guy who is selling this. Supposedly they used an old Mondial for some studio work, and then he bought it off of them. It would make a neat accessory in someone's living room, and the actual car body is in very nice condition... -Wayne
