Thump noise from plenum / air intake assembly

    My 81 308 GTSi recently started making a "thumping" sound from the plenum / air intake assembly. At idle & goes away at higher rpm. Felt both sides of the engine and the thump is definitely coming from the plenum. Any ideas?

    Located noise, it was faulty crank sensor rear bank

    Glad it all worked out. Thirty plus years of missed or deferred maintenance. Once things are all sorted out these cars run well.
