Does anyone know where I can get a diaphragm spring made for a 348 clutch in the GTA? Any advice is appreciated.

not bad...I ripped apart my input shaft on my 348..very painfull to my wallet..hows the 2 nd gear in the car, when the car is cold?
Mario, I know I am a little late on the response here, but that was not my clutch....it was a fellow Londoner's (non-FCHatter).
Yes - I sent to a place in Los Angeles (Friction Materials), the same place Ernie went and got a diaphragm spring made. Can't get this spring anywhere, every place sells the entire unit or nothing. Friction Materials asked me to send him this broken unit, he got a part and has to machine it down to spec which he says can only take a day or two....these are the only guys that I know of that can/will make just the diaphragm spring....needless to say that this company is a very valuable contact to have...thanks to Ernie, Fat Billy Bob, and Plugzit for discovering this place. Here is the best part - the cost on it will be between $120-180. When Ernie did his, it cost him $125. Much better than having to buy the entire unit for $3,000.00
I was guided to a good clutch shop in Toronto by Denis, but he didn't have what I needed. Also Rocco was kind enough to look into it for me but he also didn't have what I needed.
Thanks Lucas - I am wondering if these guys can do the same thing that Friction Materials in LA can - they both have "Friction" in their company name....I will give them a call tomorrow to find out, wouldn't it be something if these guys who are a few hours east of me can do what I need, instead of me having sent it off to California? LOL
Are you ready for this....wait for it..... a whopping $95.....that's right, $95 for a diaghragm spring, for a part that is unobtanium through Ferrari... Thanks again to Ernie, FatBillyBob, and Plugzit.
YEAH buddy! That's what I'm talkin bout! Nice job Mikey, and thanks for the update. Another successful job Stooge Style. Long live the 348 Brotherhood.
Couldn't have done it without the Stooges Like I said, Friction Materials is an excellent contact to have, that spring is not available from Ferrari - Ferrari wants to sell you the entire clutch unit for $3300 or $3900.
Lucas, I called Phoenix Friction and they referred me to UCM Clutch in Etobicoke. The guy's name is Robert, I sent him a picture of this spring and he will have a look at it to see if he can get it and machine it down do spec. If he can, then we no longer have to send it to California, we have our connection right here locally....if he cannot, then $40 for shipping both ways + $95 for the spring sure beats $3,300 or $3,900 As soon as I hear back from Robert, I will post an update here. cheers
I spoke with Robert of UCM Clutch yesterday, there is a 95% chance that he can produce this spring...so thank you Lucas for adding another valuable contact to the Ferrari community

Rob is a personal friend of mine & a great guy. He did my clutch for me on 355 a few years ago. I did not think he would have that spring--but he does have connections. Great it worked out for you.
Hey Mike, No problem! At least 'my guy' knows 'another guy'.....who finally got the job done! LOL Its also good to keep the local economy going.
He is a great guy - he took the time to speak with me AND email after his shop hours. That unit did not come from him as I got Lucas's message after I sent it off to Los Angeles, but aleast next time I know there is someone local thar can produce this for us. Thanks again Lucas t
