I have just noticed that the driver's side scuff plate/sill has come adrift and seems to be hanging on by one fastner...!!! I am not game to lift it off yet to see how it hangs together without further information. Does anyone know what the fastening system is and are the fastners available,if so where from..? my first post so be gentle..!!!! maranello 550,1999 16,000 km from new,one owner, me....

    Less than 1,000 k's a year?

    You're worse than me!

One of our 575 owners should be able to help, otherwise ask in the 550/575 area.

Plastic pins molded into the reverse side, not replaceable clips. You could try ordering a new sill plate from Ferrari, or put a dob of clear silicone under the end that's adrift to glue it back down.

Thank you Ian. I will explore the gold plated option first and then decide. I like the "dob of silicon" solution because it is only a cosmetic trim. does anyone know the part number..? before I go to my dealer, I am due for it's annual service and fluids change.

Have a look at the Eurospares website, easy to find the part and part number. Is this what you need?

if Ferrari can still supply it then buy a new one from the dealer, it's only going to be $70-80.
