That looks like a beautiful 550, very nicely specced, congratulations and enjoy!

I also have/had 911s, most recently 996 Turbo S manual (like yours I think?) alongside my Ferraris. Nat, they are very different, and it's all subjective, particularly as fans of 911s are themselves so diverse as to which era/cars are the best. But pelt along a fast, winding and slightly bumpy road in a good 911, and it's exciting when you get it right: how much to slow down coming in, when to catapult out, and that feeling when the car moves around in the corner because of the engine, something that has diminished over time, particularly with the active engine mounts. The engines can be great, too.

But a 911 can also feel disappointing. I hated my SC, didn't fall in love with my 964 C4, didn't get the 993 C2, was bored by the 991 Carrera and 997 Turbo S. Loved the 997 C2 GTS, 996 Turbo, 930 Turbo five speed. All very personal.

Nobody with soul couldn't love a Maranello.

Interesting! I guess the only one i ever had was a 911carrera s from 2014. I had it for a few months but i didn't connect with it ...maybe i am more made for older models!

Congrats, nice interior. Owning as well a 993 Carrera Cabriolet, both cars are lovely in their own way's. On narrow roads and passes across the european alps a 911 is hardly to beat. On the other hand a Maranello on fast and winding roads is such a perfect and fascinating combination. Enjoy both of them....!

 

Congrats, the 550 is really becoming a classic now - and it's a wonderful car.
