    1956 Porsche 356A "Early Car"

In the Porsche world, the most iconic color combination is silver with red interior, because all of the racing Porsches in the early days were silver-the color used by German marks, including Mercedes.Original silver cars are valuable, AS IS THIS 1956 EARLY "A" in this color combination The first year, 1956, was a one-year only model, and it has the beehive tail lights like the "pre-A cars," but the updated dash like the A cars, making them very desirable and very hard to find these days. Keep in mind this car was only about the 12,000th Porsche ever built...it's a fairly early car.

It comes with the original Kardex (build sheet) for the car, confirming its numbers and color combo. It is also confirmed by the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche that I have as well.

This car has been completely restored and it was a very solid car to begin with. Prior to body work, the complete car was rotisserie blasted with dry ice. No accidents or metal work. Engine, transmission, suspension, gauges all restored. New leather interior. Carburetors just restored by Carburetor Rescue (356 carb specialist). This car has all its original stamped panels (doors, never-kinked hood which is rare, trunk lid) which are original to the car. It has all original stamped glass, including the windshield. In the Porsche world, again, these things are important and are what collectors look for.

The wheels are a restored set of 5 original Rudges (wheels, splined hubs, brake hubs, spinners). These Porsche Rudge sets retail for $45K alone. Rubber is Vredestein, as original, and they are new. Brake pads are new.

Included is also all 5 steel wheels, with tires.

It has the original owner's manual with red cover and a reproduction full tool kit.

Correct operational Blaupunkt radio and speakers (speakers are new but they are correct with correct cloth), sun visors (green plexi which are extremely hard to find. Inner door handles and a period correct $2500 ceramic coated Sebring exhaust (original Dansk exhaust INCLUDED)

Because the underneath was in such good shape, to show off all the original spot welds, etc.We had Liberty Motorsports professionally undercoat, as factory, the car using the original Porsche product so that it is now correct and also correct the finish on some of the hardware (nuts and bolts) underneath the car.

Regarding any flaws or defects, it does not have the original transmission. It has a later "B" transmission, but the benefit of that is that it is a synchromesh trans, and it works well.
