Recently i have had some F1 problems---

    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40106

I spoke with Chris at the open house and scheduled a time. I ran about 1 hour late. When I got there they immediately jumped on it. The did a brake job and installed my Porterfield R4-S pads. Did a FULL diagnostic on the car and found my shifting problem and fixed the issue with the hydraulic line to the F1 pump. My actuator was around 4 degrees out, which .8 is the tolerance. They got it back to perfect and put an extra mechanic on it to get it out quick as I was waiting for the car since it was an hour and forty-five minute drive back home. They stayed late so the could get the car done for me. Tom (the diagnostic guru) finished the car and gave me a very good analysis of the overall car, took it out for a drive and even spared a couple of extra minutes to show me a couple of interesting techniques with the car. Hats off to Chris and Tom at FOA. I will be sending them a gift certificate for lunch on me. The car was there nearly all day and I walked out for only $400 well spent dollars. On top of that Levi in sales took me out in their 575M. Black and natural leather.....what a ride. This dealership will ALWAYS have my business. Thanks for all on the forum who gave me the recommendation. Thumbs up from me. It is nice to hear a good story every once in a while after you hear some of the horror stories. So far good luck with both FOA and Tim Stanford in Ft Lauderdale. FOA, well done!!!!!

Sorry...... but, I beg to deviate towards to the opposite side of the customer service spectrum. Perhaps this acclaimed superior service is in an effort by the dealership to capture lost business due to prior poor customer service. None the less, it's a good situation when a F'car owner receives Ferrari service as it could be. When your Maranello creation performs as intended, there are smiles everywhere.

Was Chris the service manager when you were last there?

In answer to your question... Yes, Chris was the service manager, and that is one reason why no return visits from me. I have known the prior service manager, who functioned at an even lower level of standard. The service department has failed me in many ways, but I attribute that to higher management. It's the bottom line mechanics, who try their best, and of course, Herald in parts department is great. BUT, overall, the dealership management doesn't have a clue regarding straight forward customer service. Besides, after they had tried to fix a minor problem with my 512TR, I finally fixed it myself. The dealership had even screwed up the seat belt recall on my car, and I still don't have resolution.

The dealership is certainly capable of top work, but they seem more concernered with the depth of your wallet.

I have learned to perform most service items on my own in the home garage, which is where quality happens. The condition of my car and it's respective dyno numbers are a result MY TLC, not that of FoA.

    FORZA

Tom used to work for me at FLG, he is a great guy and a very good mechanic. I am glad he was able to get your F1 problem sorted out.

Tom was a wonder! Seems to know his Ferrari's. He was a big help and very pleasant. He took some time to show me some details about the car while it was on the lift. Very nice personality and demeanor. I guess his background is diagnostics.

I have had both good and not so good service at FoA over the years. I believe they are great on the newer models, but may lack the knowledge of the idiosyncracies and techniques to work on some of the older models efficiently. Most of the mechanics now there were not even born when the Daytona was a new car. Regardless, even when I have not been 100% pleased with the work done, Chris has always stood behind the work and went out of his way to make it right and me happy. That being the case, I will use them again in the future as needed.
