    Hey everyone. While out today on a trip I noticed that shifting from 1st to 2nd in the F1 transmission it skipped a couple of times and went to 3rd. Anybody had this happen to them. It also seems like when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd you have to hold the paddle in for a moment for it to downshift. I have already checked the fluid and it is ok and I am getting no Check engine light. Can anybody give some help???????

    It may have an actuator alignment problem. Is the F1 warning light on?. If the light is on the cause will be recorded in memory. If it is an actuator alignment problem it can be resolved easily.

    The actuator is the component that is attached to the transmission that actually does the shifting. It needs to be adjusted on its rotational axis and set for fore and aft depth rather carefully for proper shifting. If it encounters too much resistance in shifting it will sometimes just go on to the next gear, other times to neutral. When it does so it will register that in memory. I have encountered many over the years that worked properly for a long time that were just within tolerance of adjustment that one day just started malfunctioning. Also if you have had a service intervention of some nature that involved the actuator in any way that could well explain it too. It could also be having trouble with the switch set on the column.

    It seems that if I shift under low power or RPM's it will do fine, any reason???

    If it was mine I would take it to the shop, hook it up to the machine, check for errors and do a cycle test on it. One of those should reveal the problem.

    It seem to only do it over 7800 rpm. It wants to flutter for a second or two, kinda like it hits the rev limiter the change gears.

    Thanks so much for the help. You were right on the money. The actuator bolt was rubbing on the rubber boot and caused it to be 4 degrees off, .8 is the tolerance.
