As I promised in this thread:
Need part for 1984 308 GTB
    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239497

I can now supply reproduction #60044401 kidney shaped dash vents.

As always, I try to address shortcomings in the originals whenever possible without changing the appearance. The improvements in these vents are:

    a) The very long thin louvers are strengthened with cross-braces across the back. These braces are not visable from normal viewing angles. The braces make it much less likely that a louver will be broken while detailing your dash. Also, they make the louvers much unlikely to bend if parked in the sun in a hot environment.

    b) The plastic used is a UV and heat resistant polyurethane. It's heat deformation temperature is approximately 250 F, much higher than most other casting plastic's heat deformation temperatures. The heat deformation temperature is the temperature at which a plastic will begin to yield under light pressure. The actual temperature that must be reached before the plastic will begin to deform due to it's own weight is MUCH HIGHER!

The vinyl dash covering will probably begin to sag before these vents deform due to heat!

    d) As the 3rd picture shows, the vent is mounted with 4 M3x0.7 studs & nuts. Alternatively, you can put a small amount of black silicone sealant next to each of the studs, just press the vent into place, and wipe off any excess sealant.

CAUTION: The vent sides are pretty thin, providing barely enough material to anchor the stud. So if you apply excessive force to a mounting stud, you will likely break the vent.

    PRICE:
$97/Vent + $11.90 S&I for 1 or 2 vents within the USA. Please contact me for APO and international shipping rates.

    TO ORDER:
    Send PayPal to: [email protected]
Use the subject: ORDER: Dash Corner Vent

Or send eMAIL to: [email protected]
& I'll send you a PayPal invoice. Or if you don't use PayPal, I'll send you the address to send a check or money order.

Please be patient, It takes about 24 hours to make a vent, so I can typically make about 3 to 4 vents/week. If this becomes a significant problem, I will make a 2nd mold.

I have resumed production, & am shipping 3 - 5 vents/week! I still have about a 3 week backlog & am notifying people as their name comes to the top of the waiting list.

A couple of improvements over the 1st generation design announced in the preceding post:
    - The material is now 50% fiberglass & the heat deformation temperature is almost 300F!!!
    - I have changed the mounting stud's head design slightly to provide more plastic between it & the edge of the vent, making it less likely that excess pressure on the stud will break the vent. However, care is still recommended.

Price: $147/vent + $9.10 S&I within the USA. Please contact me for APO and international shipping rates.
    $294/pair + $10.85 S&I

These were used on the following models: 208, 308, 328, & 288 GTO

    Whew!!
We've finally shipped the last of the back-orders for the kidney vents.

I still have 1 or 2 orders where the vents are made, but are being held up because of other items on the order.

Hopefully orders can now ship 3-5 business days after payment is received. Possibly faster if I can get a few made for inventory.
