In Europe for whatever reason it’s different.
We read about some husband wife team building a c type replica off a mk2 jag having their car seized fined etc. that may have also involved design copyrights, but even then they were not selling the car.

in the case of singer I know they have a plant in uk too. But in USA as you say its chassis number and the cars singer does still carry the silhouette of the 911 so it’s not as though they’re even doing something like a 904.

Beck did a pretty cool 904.
