It was a delicious meal. My first time having Japanese cuisine at a Michelin starred restaurant and hopefully not the last. Was craving more Japanese food and stopped by a local restaurant for tonkatsu and a salmon donbori. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

We came up to our cottage in door county Wisconsin. Really cool old area with a lot of Scandinavian fishing villages along the coastlines. Getting our place ready for the summer. Had our favorite dinner. Got some fresh perch. I Love tenderloin and prime rib, and all the rest. However, fresh perch has got to be the best. Lightly breaded and pan fried with a lemon butter, wine sauce. Image Unavailable, Please Login
ha...still waiting for you to source good beef and learn to cook it Amazing...as always! He is making it hard... ah, come on. That just isn't fair! (seriously, that may be the single most perfect burger I've seen in my life)
Image Unavailable, Please Login Not particularly noteworthy, store bought tamales. What is noteworthy is lurking in the background. For the first time in years, saw Huy Fong sriracha on the supermarket shelves! Strict one-per-customer limit. Memory may be hazy but to me it seemed less red, more viscous and spicier than previous. One of our very favorite places, posted here several times over the years, Andreoli Italian Grocer. Bufala mozzarella, gnocchi with pesto/tomato/cream sauce, porchetta sandwich, and a cannoli and espresso. All to die for. Unquestionably the most authentic Indian food I've had outside of India is in Chandler AZ of all places. So good...tastes like my childhood trips to India... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Arizona continues to mean tacos. These were from a new place we tried. Not very good birria tacos. Image Unavailable, Please Login
We were fortunate that the annual Polish Festival was later than usual and thus we were able to attend. Love that event and the food! All the traditional foods makes my wife happy...and you know what they say... Jenner enjoyed a sampling of the Polish foods too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had heard the original single-source chile grower became jealous of the Old Man’s fortune; wanted a larger cut. Two Indian Chiefs in a tepee with loaded guns pointed at each other pulled the trigger. The Huy Fong sriracha is now different, but back on the market. If you’ve never seen, nice short documentary on the sauce and its creator on Prime “Sriracha”. Used to be free, but like all streamers now, anything good/interesting costs more. $2.99 for the 20 minute show if you’re interested.
I've seen a few stories on YouTube re the shortage. Half seem to blame Huy Fong, rest blame the grower. I'll check that one out. T
Lemon chicken bake. Wife describes it as airline food but I say from 1st class. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Airline food?!? Dang, that's savage! Image Unavailable, Please Login Had beef ribs and decided to experiment and use them to make Sunday gravy. Good, but I think I can do better. Version 2.0 was tonight - this time I seared the beef ribs first, tripled the amount of garlic, and simmered for 4 hours instead of 3. T

Image Unavailable, Please Login Had a few batches of shrimp shells saved in the freezer, so I made shrimp ramen broth. Ginger, garlic, red onion, shrimp shells. Simmer for an hour or so. Sautee baby bok choy in a little soy sauce. Microwave some frozen corn. Mix with cooked ramen noodles. Top with a jolt of sriracha. Inspired by this recipe. https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/feel-good-spicy-ramen-with-sweet-potatoes-and-crispy-shallots/ Diced sweet potato, shallot, garlic powder, S&P, baby bok choy, gojuchang. Sweat them. Deglaze the pot with shrimp broth, added in dried shiitake mushrooms, simmer, add noodles. Two minutes further simmering - these were fresh ramen noodles. Mix it up, top with a dollop of gojuchang. Get to slurping! T
