    Good news is I didn’t lose the clip and it didn’t fall into the abyss. Bad news is I can’t get it to clip back on. Anyone have the sleight of hand trick required to reattach it if it comes all the way off while removing the strut from the mount?

    I’ve had this happen and if I recall correctly it just slid back on. Will yours not slide on at all, or just won’t stay on once it’s where it’s supposed to be? I have my old ones that should have the clips still if yours is broken and you need a new one.

    I tried sliding it on from the bottom but it’s a no go. I don’t want to stretch it out too much to force it on because I’m thinking (like you said) it won’t stay on or if it does, it won’t keep the strut anchored.

    Just spread the opening enough to push it on. It won’t break.

    It's spring steel - don't worry abut breaking it. Use a screwdriver underneath it to draw it away from the clip body.

    It came completely off the strut. Talking about the strategy to put it back on. Going to try a clamp spreader when I get a chance.
