Those HGTE/Tubi tailpipes also stay a lot cooler and cleaner on the outside.

Mine has the Tubi straight pipes kit 01410461000 (without the standard tips instead of Propella tips). It is almost too loud...I need more time driving it this season to see if I will take the cat-back straight pipes off and fit Tubi or HGTE mufflers.

I think these are great if you are making a track car but around town it might be too much.

Yes...so far, it has been a bit loud :) It does draw a lot of attention to the 612 though.

Good engine sound has not to be loud.
    Present but not loud.

So I put the Tubi mufflers on the car with the Fabspeed straight pipes. I ran it around for a couple of weeks and decided to pin the flaps open, not to make it louder but to get rid of the transfer from closed flap to open flap. So far I think this is a great improvement. It's louder in the cabin when shifting but once you get to 6 and cruising there is no problem. Plus, as I have mentioned before, there is more connection to the engine sound which I personally like.

I did the exact same thing. I’ve got an HGTE, stock mufflers but added the Fabspeed cat delete, disconnected the vacuum tube to the valve so that it stayed open permanently. Much better, and startup/idle is glorious.

Taz, I think this is some kind nod to the 250 SWB. Same propella.

One more addition: a belt pulley tensioner, which was ordered, was installed today. The car was making a little squeaky noise when it was cold, not any more.

So this year's big preventative item is the oil breather check valve #265721. This valve tends to leak all over the corresponding hoses around it and is the cause of many a 599 fire. Ferrari is apparently aware of the problem and now has an upgraded kit. The theory is that the valve is weak and if the car is overfilled with oil the oil expands and pushes out of the valve.
    Cam Solenoids checked
    Caliper pistons checked
Clutch life 56% used on 47K miles
More sticky buttons replaced with treated buttons
F1 transmission fluid changed (every other year)
    Oil service
    General engine bay cleaned
    PA Inspection

    Ready to Roll!

You are my hero! I have a very long list of stuff to do on my car. I decided to PNO (planned non-operation) the car and do the lagging stuff. I will get busy on it after taxes are done, until then it is on my lift.

I have just done most of the same stuff to my 09. It will crack 10K miles in the next week. I changed the rear shocks with new ones and will have the rears rebuilt to put on the front when those start to leak. I think I will install new engine and trans mounts and brake hoses when it gets too hot here. These were punch list items when I had my car at Ferrari of Naples for an inspection.

It's interesting that so many people need to do the motor mounts, mine continue to be fine. I haven't done the rear shocks yet because they continue to behave.

Today I started the annual Leatherique slathering. I hate the process but love the results.
