The back end looks high and LONG, but overall I am digging the shape. The length and height may be exacerbated by the camo and/or a spoiler, so it will really be interesting to see more as the camo gets peeled back.

Yea I think it looks awesome. Not a fan of the wheels, but the shape has Corvette and Ferrari lines imho, which I love.

Yep the camo may be ezagerating the size, but currently it looks big.

Doors look to maybe be the same piece as the current car.

Impossible to say much with all that camo, other than yeeha looks like we have a mid engined vette.

The mid engined vet will be something else, guys. The amount of time and energy being put into it is legit. Chevy is absolutely on their game. My Camaro ZL1 is dialed in. The engineers crushed it. There are some very competent people working at Chevy now to make these cars perform and it's showing.

Those proportions with the long wheelbase remind me of the Enzo test mule (348-based) and the LaF test mule (458-based and now GregB's). i'll be surprised if it ends up looking like that...

There's one photo of the front that implies 2 large grill openings - almost like the F430, but larger...interesting for sure.

Looking at it more - the back end reminds me of a Saleen, long and wide. Not a bad thing at all.

I looked back at the earlier spy shots, the one where the drivers are trying to cover up the car. The back looks like it's a long piece of glass - is it possible the engine will be visible??

Also, will this have the rumoured DOHC LT5?

Haven't been this excited about a car in a while, so far so good.

Since the ZR1 had a visible engine on the front, this thing definitely should...I'd be shocked if it didn't.

    Same here.
If there's any way that I can swing it, I'll be getting one. I really hope they start well under six-figures, I'd hate be too irresponsible. ;)

The rear end has quad, squared off exhausts, unlike the C7, these are pushed wide instead of centered. We can't tell what shape the rear lights are, but it's very unlikely that they're round.

    Please make them ROUND! () () () ()

In Autoweek or Automotive news the interesting thing about the covered up car, which definitely has mid engine proportions , is there is a second
car parked far behind same shape, same covering which makes me think pre production cars are roaming the earth. I agree with someone who spoke earlier saying too small a niche, but ironically if it is a hot performer, it could crush Ferrari's US sales, as Chevy dealers aren't nearly so snobby as Ferrari dealers.... Which means they have probably built ten already to get some key data for other engineering departments to...engineers don't like to share time!

So they have a Ferrari 458 for design study in the studio for the new mid engine Vette. I guess now we will have cars both front and mid engine for people to argue that Ferrari and Vette look similar and we will have the answer as to what came from what.

They didn’t copy the 458. It was there as a reference .

I wonder how long they had to wait on the list to get a 458 ... :)

Another thought to consider - if the car is fiberglass (as all Corvettes are), we may not be seeing an actual body shape.

I'm struggling with what appears to be a big difference between the "McDonald's" sighted cars and the previous car that was on the track in winter (which the rendering I posted above is based on).

Well if they are looking at the 458 to aee what NOT to do that's disturbing as well.
