Was thinking of buying a kit with either Ital or the Concours??? Going to order a Clay bar & lube as well,is that a hard job? Would you recommend the towels and microwipes and if so how many do you need to do a car.
So let's get this right - youve paid Dave £250 to polish it and youre now going to chop it in. You big tart.
Ital is the regular one to get I think concours is very expensive isn't it? As for towels go to Mothercare and buy a pack of 6 Terrys nappy towels they're £10 and superb. The clay bar is not difficult but long winded I guess its not something that needs doing often only if when you rub your hand over the paintwork you can feel tiny bumps, I didn't use lube either just soapy water from Zymol wash. After that comes the chocolate mouse a mild cleaner which is applied and rubbed off only then is it time for the Zymol wax. Happy polishing
Just buy a starter kit. It comes with Autobathe (the shampoo), H D Clense, 2 applicator pads and a microfibre cloth. The final price just depends on which wax you choose. Have a look on Parc Ferme's (sp?) website. They are an approved stockist. I got a starter kit with Titanium wax for the Exige (as its recommended for cars which do lots of hard driving and trackdays - so not for you GJOB Ferrari boys then! )
Was it Park Ferme that were at the FOC Concours? If so then I had a chat with the bloke there and they do a 'Vintage' starter kit for £175 (I think that was it), which seems very good value if you consider the cost of the full tub of vintage (it was thousands). ΩSteve, your photos have convinced me that I should get some. (I enjoy doing that sort of thing myself esp as my garage fridge is full of beer).
Or Tesco who do similar micro Fibre to Zymol's for £1.50 each, then CostCo for terry cloths at £12 for 50
I've just been looking on the Parc Ferme www and they don't seem to do the same products that the man was showing me at the concours (I'll see if I can find the leaflet). But it was definately vintage, in a smaller pot, and I remember thinking it was cheep (or the big pot was v.overpriced) and the bloke did stress that a pot would last years as you hardly use any each time you wax the car.
Andy give Craig a ring i use them all the time very helpfull 01202862680 RAY360M Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ray are all your products sitting on a Red carpet in front of a Red wall I bet even your toilet papers Red hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
What about the clay bar - heard a lot of positive comments about it but never actually used it (only got the starter kit which doesn't include it). Dave's doing the 360 on Tuesday can't wait to see it. Rick
Hi Steve, A machine polisher sounds about the best option, problem is it will only hide it , you can never get rid of scratches completely , also the fact that you know its there doesn't help. If you go to a body shop they should be able to do it for you , If your thinking of getting your own mop stay away from hellfords machine polishers they aren't powerfull enough to do the job. Hope this helps , failing that I hear easy jet flights from Brum to Ireland are quite cheap (he he). Dave
Not Italy, but I am going to mablethorpe with the family in a few weeks.(he he) Maybe I should become DBV international.
Obviously because its more shiney there is less friction, I think they should use it on Schueys F1 car surely good for an extra 1/10 or two
