Yesterday I had my car Zymolled by DB Valeting and thought I would post some pics of the finished product. The overall finish is fantastic and Dave is so meticulous it's painful to watch. I thought I was going to have to replace the rear light grille as it was faded and pitted, now it looks brand new! He arrived at 9.00am and finished at 9.30pm. Well worth the minimal investment I think and Dave couldnt have been more helpful Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Having asked Steve round for a few beers last night - 8pm, he couldn't make it as Dave still hadn't finished! So I checked out the work last night and today - excellent job, well worth it....perhaps next year for me
Looks excellent Steve, nice job Dave, inspired me to nip out and take some pics of my Zymol jobby Almost as professional as Daves Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Scuderia is like Joe360's and Fergy's 360 its a kind of lighter red bit like yours maybe thats the vintage Zymol that Dave uses that makes the difference mines only the cheap carbon Zymol
Car looks stunning, but every time I see a thread like this, one question always comes into my mind. (And please everybody don't take this the wrong way,esp DB Valeting) And that is, Poilshing a car,esp a Ferrari has got to be one of the most pleasurable jobs for any petrolhead,so why pay someone else to do it. Have I missed something about the Zymol process. BTW where can I buy some Zymol. Steve
Yea I understand what you are saying - but the first treatment can take 8 hours and I (and probably more than a few others) have'nt got that amount of time to spend! Having said that it only then takes half an hour to apply further top coats to keep it looking great, so its this I enjoy doing
I think that about sums it up. DB arrived at 9.00am and went at 9.30pm, thats 12 1/2 hours!! As much as I love my my car, sod polishing it for that long, i'm quite happy to pay someone else for the 'privilage' of doing that. As Simon says, once all the ground work has been done, applying the regular Zymol 'top ups' only take between 20 and 30 mins...I can just about cope with that
The higher up the grades of wax you go, the deeper the shine and more intense the colour gets, Si , if you want to try out one of the other higher grades , I have a few sample pots lying around , let me know and I'll get one sent over for you. Cheers Davie B
Hi Dave, Have a question maybe you can answer, There is a long scratch on the bonnet of my car maybe 12" in lenght, its not deep like a cut in the paint but very noticeable to me anyway when the car is parked in the garage under flourescent lights. Dont know how it got there, looks like a small stone has skimmed up the bonnet and grazed the paint, have tried HD Cleanse and still there, some guys here have suggested I use an orbital machine to polish it out, and here in my part of Ireland there are no Valet operators I would trust, any ideas on how to minimise its appearance? steve
Nice job! Steve, do you have any pics that show the car before Dave got his hands on it ? Dave, any plans to holiday in Italy this year.............!
This is a pic earlier in the year, you need to see the car in the 'flesh' to appreciate the Zymol finish Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can understand that point to a degree, can't grasp the being to lazy polish a Ferrari point of view though.Or maybe I need to get out more Anyway I'm convinced and am about to order some Zymol tomorrow.
