    Anyone worked with him before?

He's out of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. I spent 15 minutes talking to him on the phone as he explained his business.

He sold his grey market watch business 5 years ago, doesn't deal with private grey sells now, just has a relationship with AD's and boutiques, especially in Europe to get the best deals on new watches.

I'm getting a brand new IWC out of Europe for $2k bellow retail all in.

200 5-star reviews on Chrono24 and 200 5-star reviews Google. Did some research Reddit and Quora people posting too good to be true while others said they have dealt with him a long time and straight shooter. No complaints but sometimes price changes after market changes. We'll find out, I will keep community updated.

    Quite obviously is the cost.

Plus I don't wear a watch enough to justify the gigantic costs.

And lastly, I NEVER try to pass them off as 'the real thing' in the rare times I wear one,
I always tell people it's a replica, and usually how to tell the differences.

I've been considering one of these, I had one 40-45 years ago....

I don’t believe in replica watches or Ferraris for any reason, but if going for replicas might as well do Rolex, AP, or PP. has anyone done a IWC replica? :D

I have a fake Tag Heuer, and a fake Rolex that is a 9/10.

There are fake IWC's all over the place, the site I named above I have been looking on since about 2008, they have a few.

The fake market has exploded, in 2010 my fake Rolex was $110, today it's over $1,000 - for a fake.
    Why?
Because it was one of the last ones made with a Swiss movement, shortly thereafter you could not get
one with a Swiss movement, they are all Asian now, and because it's a 9 out of 10 - there are many
tell-tale signs of a fake, mine passes all of them except for one, which it is slightly off on, the rehaut
is not quite perfect, but you need to know what to look for.

Nothing sad on my end, I got them when they were cheap.
The Tag Heuer Carrera cost me $40, so all in all I got $150 in them.

But I still want that vintage Casio remake....

    Rob,

Congratulations on the purchase! If you didn't buy it as an investment but to enjoy, getting it new with a warrantee is pretty cool! I hope it brings you years of joy!

    Regards,

    Art S.

I read the thread - congrats on the watch. IWC's are very nice watches. I would say in the future - I'd cover up the serial number on the back of watches - so that replica makers dont use it.... with all the open case backs today, that is most likely why the replicas have got so good... they are basically reverse engineering them, with cheaper material, but essentially the same architecture. all that is not known are serial numbers etc. I saw a video on a 5712 that compared the real thing with a replica, and it was literally the same, The only difference was how the movement was accessed, and that the replica was not a precious metal, and champleve on the bridges etc... but Geneve striping, Perlage and all the rest are now being done to virtually the same standards - minus negative air pressure rooms.

    Hi Rob,
I am looking at buying an IWC from Swiss Watches as well. I spoke with Yuri the other day as well. He seems like a good guy, but I am very skeptical about wiring him money in advance. Hence, I began doing research and came across your post. It sounds like you had a very good experience with Yuri. Did you wire him money in advance? Just trying to get comfortable with doing business with him. I’m in the Dallas area as well. Thanks.

yes, it all worked out 100% for me. I wired the money and got the watch within a couple days. He has sources in Europe, but mine came from a IWC dealer in USA.

Rob, great watch. Yeah, it's good to have a good broker relationship like that. Having them drop-shipped from an AD to you in 2-3 days is the best way to buy watches when you haven't developed a long relationship with a B and M dealer! I've been doing that for years.
