A friend of mine may be looking for another Ferrari and noticed various ads about a publication called “The Ferrari Market letter” (26 times a year, only available on their website and by email, 48 years in the business). They claim to have a few hundreds ads in every issue from serious sellers + that each car for sale has been vetted against databases.

Do you know this publication? If yes, is it serious and worth it to subscribe (as an additional ressource for a search)?

The fact you haven't heard of it after 13 years on FerrariChat and 10k posts tells you everything you need to know.

As a enthusiast, especially for the older vintages, I would still have a subscription to FML. I liked their model list, but I think Cavallino's is better now. Internet is 100x better (complete & no cost) to browse the market.

Thank you for your answer. He’s not interested at all in older vintage models, then no need to subscribe (was thinking about it as an additional ressource). Fchat rocks, questions and answers :)

I don't think autotrader sells alot of cars, but most dealers advertise on there so you can get a handle on the market. also BAT sales give you insight the actual market.

we're up over 60 Ferraris in our new Classifieds, click Buy above.

+1, I already gave him all the resources I know (including Fchat). He’s an Aston Martin owner (DBS), he got the Ferrari bug after being around my car and around other cars from the local F club.

Yes. The former owner of the FML pioneered legitimate advertising of used Ferraris. If a car is for sale in the FML, it is a real car because Gerald required a VIN and a price. Plus, if he didn't know the owner or the car, he wouldn't run the ad. I brought my first Ferrari, a Maranello, over 20 years ago. I made a spreadsheet of every car on the Internet. I was stunned by the number of fraudsters advertising cars. They would rip off an eBay ad and rerun it as their car. All they wanted was your deposit, say $5,000.

The FML asking price index is also widely misunderstood. It is an ASKING price index, not an estimate of selling prices.

I’ve been an on-again, off-again subscriber for I dunno, 15-20 years. It’s a little old school, but surprised some long-time people here haven’t even heard of it.

If you’re looking for a car, sure it’s a worthwhile resource. Plenty of newer cars in there, too, but I just cruise the ads for pre-2000 cars, and I like the editorial content. Plus it comes out every other week.

I've been a long-term subscriber as well. One of the big benefits is they have a great database if you are looking at buying a used Ferrari and will share if you are a subscriber.

Subscribed for many years. Cancelled a few years after Gerald passed away. Not that his family isn't doing a good job with the publication. The reason I stopped my subscription was a combination of his passing, the Ferrari IPO and the fall out of Pininfarina, which curved my interest in the market back then.

I still have all the back issues from '89 through 2012. Fun to look back at the market. It was, and still is, a very good product.

I think FML is great. Their Index alone is worth the price of admission. And if you ever have any questions, they respond promptly by email.
