December 23rd 1988, go to Caterham showroom and put down deposit with Guy Munday (7 fans will remember him) for a 1700 De-Dion. Collected from Erith (Kent) in kit form and built by November 1989. First new car. BTW... I was 21. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Seems I'm the only true Italian car fan here Whilst I lusted after Ferrari's, I really wanted an Alfa 33 Cloverleaf but limited means meant I went for a brand new Fiat Tipo 1.4 DGT in 1989. I collected it on August 1st which was the plate change date in those days and was deliriously happy driving my new G reg motor around Edinburgh. Funnily enough it was solid white, just like my latest Italian motor
I reckon an original RS3100 would be worth a fair few dollars now Joe, how much would it have been new??
The first brand new car I bought was this Escort XR3i. Cringe! Circa 1984. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great in white. Did you do the wheel's yourself? I dont like coloured wheels, generally, but they look great on your Gallardo. Jamie
My first car....... I was 17 years old and got a Black Ford Capri 2.0S. Got screwed by the scumbag Ford dealer who sold me a pre-reg when I was supposed to be the first owner!!!! Also considered an XR3i, but thought it was a bit gay to drive and besides..... Bodie & Doyle did'nt drive one.
Jamie, The wheels on my car are the standard silver finish Callisto's. The picture Rob posted is of a limited edition SE in balloon white which is pearlescent metallic and had the titanium wheels as part of the SE spec. My car is bianco cygnus which is solid white.
Here we go, this was my first brand new company car....I was 19 years old and thought i had landed. I was a rep for RJ Reynolds (Camel cigarettes) had 2400 free ciggies every 8 weeks, and a company orion 1.4LX. Free tickets to the grand prix, visits to the williams centre, and after dinner speeches with Murray Walker. Lotus originally then Benetton then Benetton and Williams. I was still there when Mansell won the GP.....and there was the 'camel girls' mmmmm Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dunno what thats all about . slightly O/T mate, but did you suffer oil leeks on your BMW? An old mate had one forever had a tray of cat litter under it.
