Hey guys, the Convention Center and the DC Auto Show had a miscalculation on their aftermarket and tuner gallery area on the lower level. A friend of mine and I are trying to help them out by filling up 20,000 sq ft of empty space downstairs. In years past, they've had vendors selling air fresheners and rubber steering wheel covers down there mixed with DUB displays. We're working with the Auto Show for a real coordinated effort for 2009, but are trying to help them out at the last second this year by filling the space up with some cars.

We are trying to get some Tier 1 prodution tuner cars and some exotics to promote a large auto show experience and some recognition to the DC car culture. We're the 4th largest car market in North America, yet we have no interesting vehicles beyond OEMs at our auto show.

Is anyone interested? There is no charge, the cars will be roped off and locked with no access from this weekend until next Sunday. We'll print up a placard with specs that you provide to display next to the car. Let me know if you want to discuss transport options as well.

We've already confirmed a factory Hartge BMW E93 V-10 conversion from Germany, a Hartge BMW E92 V10 production car. Also a new Katech Corvette C6 Z06 production conversion as well as a factory Mallett Cadillac CTS-V 7 liter C5R. Also an Evans Prototype 1 (based on an IMSA racecar) will be on display as well.

Also, Wetpet's "Little 5" will be there with his 328

If you're interested, please let me know- [email protected] or 202-236-4589

    Thanks,
    LS

Actually, its 2 garages with heated floors, 5 lifts, nice tool room, shark tank in the foyer as you walk up the stairs to his living quarters. There's not one bit of woman in the design of this house. I'll start a thread on this place some time in the future. Its pretty insane.

    The Monster Jeep
    ….In Review
    “1980 Jeep CJ 7”
    Owners: Thomas and Sherry Bostic

History: I bought the jeep when I was 15, (I’m 34 today), as my first daily driver!! As the years passed, I went through different engines, tires, stereos etc. Finally it was about to fall apart from rust so I took it apart to build it one last time..so I thought. I purchased a fiberglass body from AJ’s and started on building my 4 link suspension. Every year since I have added on and changed it to make it the monster it is today.
Unless otherwise stated everything stated below was designed and fabricated by myself. I, with a little help from friends, fabricated everything from the suspension to the top. There are few things on the jeep that are store bought..everything is custom made.

Here is a summary of what I have done to make this jeep such a monster!!!:

    Frame:
Completely smoothed and painted the frame gloss black
Handmade front and rear shock towers
Boxed and completely reinforced rear frame
Handmade all motor and four link mounts

    Body:
    Fiberglass body by AJ’s
Molded ABS Bushwacker fender flares to body
    Painted Hot Rod Red
One piece Wrangler front end with molded Bushwacker fender flares
    Chrome grill inserts
Chrome headlight and turn signal guards
Tilting motorized front end with 2 12” linear actuators
Motorized custom tailgate with amplifer rack and dance floor
Jeep Wrangler half doors with shaved door handles
Steelhorse stainless steel door, hood, mirrors and windshield hinges
Custom Jeep logo emblems cut from aluminum and polished
Custom trim cut from aluminum and polished and mounted in various places

    Suspension:
Front and rear four link set up
    Custom four link rods
Rancho coilovers at each wheel Rock ram hydraulic steering with drop down drag link

    Tires:
    44 x 19.50 x 15” Super Swamper bogger tires
Custom made 15 x 15” Billet Specialty Psycho rims
Custom designed beadlocks by myself and cut out with a water jet by Torrey at FST

    Axles:
    Dana 44 HD’s with 5.38 gears
Disc brakes in front in rear
Powder coated Hot Rod Red calipers and rotors
Crane aluminum finned polished differential covers
Axle skid plates fabricated from steel box tubing and powder coated Hot Rod Red
Transfer case cross member and gas tank skid plate fabricated out of steel then power coated Hot Rod Red

    Bumpers:
Front bumper fabricated using steel and aluminum houses 2 6” PIAA lights and a Warn wench. The stainless steel inserts are back lit red.
Rear bumper fabricated using steel and aluminum houses 2 6” PIAA lights, license plate insert and back up camera. The stainless steel inserts are back lit red.
Sidesteps fabricated using steel and aluminum and various neon back lighting
    All painted Hot Rod Red.

    Aluminum Top:
Custom designed by me and made with the help of the crew and tools at Bells Trim and Design
Made of 1 ½” polished aluminum tubing and 1/8” plate
Gullwing style ½ front doors fully motorized
Motorized rear hatch which houses a 15” monitor and a pair of 6 ½” MTX separates
    Motorized flip up side windows
    All windows are tinted Lexan
Panels on outside of top are covered in black waterproof material
Inside finished in black Alante and black carpet

    Drive Train:
Balanced and blue printed Chevy 350 build by Advanced Marine Technologies
Blower shop 871 super charger with dual Barry Grant 750 double pumpers painted Hot Rod Red

Motor is 30 over with Keith Black Pistons
The exhaust is all 2 ½” pipe that has been powder coated black , I used 2 Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers and ceramic coated Hooker headers
    Crane Cam
    Harland Sharp roller rockers
    MSD Billet distributor
    Fully polished rods
    MSD spark plug wires
Crane High 6 ignition system and coil

Chevy Turbo 350 built by Forcade transmissions
    TCI Converter
    Custom Chain drive Transfer case

CV Drive shafts front and rear with heavy duty spicer yoke and U joints made by Northern VA Supply

And then comes the Chain Drive:
Because the Jeep has a short wheel base, when it is lifted 2 ½’ over stock, the only way to make the drive shafts work is to drop down the output of the transfer case. I designed and fabricated a chain drive system using a chain designed for heavy machinery to lower the output shaft 8” down similar to a monster truck……and it works!!!!

    Lighting :
Six 8” PIAA 550 lights on the light bar
Six PIAA 520 lights on the front and rear bumpers
The taillights are smoked chrome Euro clear style housing with police style strobes installed Two red under carriage neon kits,

Four 20” red LED tubes ,
    Red neon tag frame
    Twenty-four strobe lights
(All neon and strobes are Streetglow)

It was his vehicle since 15 and he did what he wanted with it. I respect the work as I would any other who puts that much attention into detail. I really don't know why you have to be rude about it. Especially in a thread about customs at the DC auto show. I'd like to learn more about the garage too, but it should be in another thread.

The jeep is not my taste but its what the guy wanted to build. He did alot more than I could accomplish.

I might approach the owner of the garage mahall about having a exotic gathering at his house if you all are interested. He has the one garage setup with webcams and already has a contract with the Discovery Channel to covert a Metro donated bus into a bio research lab. He also has a contract with the marines to customize a hummer for recruiting purposes.

Here's another one of his creations. This car is currently going thru a renovation.

if this were "abortionjeepchat.com" ,I might entertain the discussion, but it is far off the base that this site promotes, and it is rather insulting IMO . hey, lets invite that thing on a drive! lol . id rather not filter through all of this crap in order to find out the details of the dc auto show.

Obviously that jeep doesn't ratched down to a Ferrari discussion. It was originally posted because Lash asked for some input for modded cars for the Auto show. I spoke with lash this morning and he said that within the first hour of his original post, he basically had all the cars he needs.

Let's start a new thread for anyone interested in hooking up to visit the DC auto show.

    cheers
