Up to the end of elementary school, I lived in Orange County (near Monterey Park....where all the other people who came from boats 2000 miles away lived). Then i moved to Los Altos in the Bay Area for 6 years. Then off to new york. Downsides of living in da Weak Coast: Much more boring than EC Everything closes at 12 or 1am San Francisco sucks If anybody mentions earthquakes (u are a pussssy) U have to drive at least 30 minutes everywhere to get somewhere. In NYC....taxi cab or short ferrari ride away U are a WC sukka Crystal COve sux Upsides of living in da Weak Coast: Weather is awesome Chicks wear skirts all year round Less Stress Cost of living is considerably less U can have a backyard Kids have somewhere to trick or treat better schools on da WC and u dont have to pay $20,000 for preschool, which is just BullshieBe!!
EC positives over da WC: more nightlife best place to live if u are a bachelor or love hangin u can get anything u want in nyc, and i mean ANYTHING best food u will never get bored in nyc. u dont have to memorize street names (except in the west village) EC negatives over da WC: everything is mad expensive subways sux azzz (real PlaYaz dont take subways by the way) parking may be a b!tch sometimes snow sux (the slushy crap part, the powder rocks!) u are next to Jersey if u dont make that much money, u cant play if u have very very young kids, feel sorry for your kids
Forget the kids. Can you give me some $$ that one needs to live the decent life? Here in CA, if you bring home 200K+ it seems you can do ok with toys/decent house. Just throwing out a number No idea on EC. Thanks again...learning lots in this thread
i feel that if u make $200,000 and u live in NYC, if u dont save a penny and like to live NYC to its fullest, u can probably afford: - a nice decent apartment....(id say u can afford a monthly mortgage of $4000-5000, which gives u a big 2 bedroom apt) - have a car with a parking spot - u can hang out with da EC and not worry about how much u spend on drinks a night - afford to buy urself some nice clothes but that is if u dont save a penny. things can be very different if u arent the kind to spend money though. oh i forgot to post as a positive: SNOW GOLF is fun!!!
im not saying if u make $200k, u wont be able to save a dime if u live in nyc. if u live moderately, u can make $150k and live ok and dont have to worry how much u spend on meals.
