If their POS trucks can do 150, then I'm worried Dan- beats the snot out of me. Perhaps someone looking to collect on fire insurance settlement? Sheesh.
The event at Yosemite was put on by the Pacific region of FCA. It was a great event and well orginized. They had security guards and parking just for us and our Ferrari's. There are always those anal people that have to cover their cars!!!
Sounds great! I'll check this thread on Sunday when I am back from Chicago. It would be fun to get 8-12 cars!
Allright guys, I'm in for sure. Bruce says my car will be ready no problem. I'm picking up a passenger in Tracy, and she's expecting to see some cars. So you all better show up. Plus, Peter's car is back on the road and this calls for a celebration. Who's in?? June 26 the crossroad of 120 and 108 (i think) at 11:00.
There is a chance I will have to be in seattle that weekend. I thought it would be this weekend, but it seems not. Will let you guys know. As for the rest - where ar eyou jokers? --Dan
Ok, seems like we had some good excitement about this drive. I'm going for sure on the 26th. I've already committed to picking up someone in Tracy for the drive. This should be a great outing and a superb drive with some fantastic views.
I'm in for sure. Havent been out that way in a long time and i'm looking forward to it. I'll be taking pictures of the whole thing. See you all there. -Ryan
If I read the replies correctly, we now have five cars? Me Vincent Artherd Yock Bobafet Please confirn and snag a few others for a fun day!
I called the Ahwahnee Lodge in Camp Curry to check the food thing out. I made a lunch reservation at 2:00 for 12 people. I'll need to call if we need to add to this. For those that have not dined at the Ahwahnee, it is NICE! There is no dress code for lunch. If we meet at 11:00 at the 120/108 juction, we'll make lunch without a problem. I asked to see if their valet can rope off 6-8 parking spots for us in the main parking lot (The Valet area is dusty with a few pot holes). I was assured a call back on Monday to confirm this. We can all chip $10-$15 per for the help. My thinking is that we may want to drive to the top of Glaicer Point for pictures, etc. after lunch. It's a fabulous view of the park! Peter Ps: The gate to the park is $10.00.
How about some details? I am considering the drive to and from Monterey in August... either way possibly running through Yosemite. What are the best roads to/from/around Yosemite?? (Thanks!)
Brian...Piece of cake! Take 156 to 152 over San Luis to I5 to the 205 E. 99 N 1 mile to the 120 E exit to Sonora. For next weekend if you can make it, you can come up Friday night (to Sonora) and stay at the Best Western Inn (Decent). You can leave your car at my house, very safe. Vincent may be doing the same thing.
I confirmed that the Ahwahnee Lodge will reserve eight primium & roped off parking spots for our cars at 1:30PM for our 2:00PM lunch! Yippeeee!
I'm In! 11:00AM at the 108/120 Juction. Melodie is coming with me (Yippee! She gets out of the restaurant for a day!)
