In my other life outside of Ferrari Chat forum, I am an avid guitarist and huge fan of Yngwie Malmsteen, who is well known for his innovative pioneering of neo-classical rock. His incredible technique and musical ability is largely based on the classical composers, including Bach, Beethoven and Paganni.
He has for many years displayed Ferrari prancing horse stickers on his Fender Stratocaster guitars and I have included a link where some fans have added the Ferrari logo to a boost pedal , that is called the YJM308. Yngwie's home studio in Miami is called the Baroque and Roll 308 studio. The 308 title coming from his owning a Ferrai 308 and a Ferrari 328GTS, which he recently sold on Ebay.

If anyone is interested I will include photos of the guitars with the Scuderia Ferrari stickers. Rock and Roll, mansions, Ferrari's, what could be better!

    Nice!

I personally don't "click" with Yngwie's music but I have tremendous respect for the man, his dedication and his technique.

Thanks for the link to the thread on vintage guitars, I'm a big guitar fan and it's always nice to meet like-minded people.

i could never get past his spandex, cheerleader kick, guitar behind the back twirl, and lip puckering.

I do, however, find myself playing the intro to "Dreaming" when i want to show of my guitar skills to the ladies.

Yngwie is a phenomenal guitarist that too often gets caught up in his own arpeggio masturbation. Still I love playing Blackstar !

I agree. I much prefer Robert Marcello... Same type of style but MUCH more melodic and musical. Equally fast and probably more technically capable to boot. Met him over at the Roland booth at the Dallas Guitar show in April...saw Yngwie play there too. About 2 songs is all you need to hear of his and you have heard it all! No need to listen to anything else.

Go to this URL and watch the "video". Robert is the guy with the really long bleach blond hair. AWESOME. I have one of these, I just wish I could play it as well as the guys doing the demos! AWESOME!

Then guys you should listen to Vitalij Kuprij, he is a classical piano prodigy and also plays "neo classical" rock.

My favorite cds from him are "High Definition" with Greg Howe on guitar, simply jaw dropping. "VK3" with Tony Macalpine on guitars and "Extreme Measures" with George Bellas on guitar.

And lets not forget the genius Jason Becker. If you play guitar then is a most to listen to "Perpetual Burn" cd, he is got it all and I don't see anyone playing better than him. Yngwie is piece of cake in comparison, try to play Jason Becker and you'll raise a lot of eyebrows.

Funny you would bring up Marcello..I LOVE him. Ive always wondering why he didnt hit it big. Im always impressed by how effortless he makes it seem.

While not as techincally accomplished as these guys we are talking about Michael Schenker is still my favorite.

Completely agree! When he is playing it is just natural and as you said effortless! He is really down to earth too if you ever get a chance to talk to him he seems like a really nice and unassuming guy!
