Any suggestions for a nice fitting quality floor mat? Looking for a simple black (no logo) floor mat for a gts. Currently considering Lloyd Mats. Thanks!
i bought a set off ebay, still haven't tried in the car since its at the shop..they seem ok and quality is pretty good Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought these: I was very happy with the price, quality, and speed of shipping. However, they didn’t fit great. I cut them and just melted the edges with a lighter. I think fitment will always be an issue with 348/355’s due to slight variations down there. Cutting them was no biggie. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293737426558 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ferrari was selling new mats for the F355. I bought a set awhile back. It has a small F355 logo on the mat close to the sill.
I just ordered 458 mats from Andrew at Exoticare and plan to order some for my 355 GTS - He comes highly-recommended by many, many people on here and from my experience thus far is awesome to deal with. He can/will do something basic as you mentioned - not everything he does is ornate with logos etc. Just ping him and let him know what you are looking for and he will respond with examples/suggestions/options. From the references on FChat the fitment is better than factory and materials are durable and easy to clean. Hope this helps - Cheers Andrew Revai Tel: 416-837-7450 WEBSITE: http://www.exoticare.ca
Has anybody heard of lakewell: https://www.lakewell.com/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lakewell is the only after-market I'd recommend for the 355. Was about to post them. They still need the locking hoops, which @OCKlasse and I have been trying to get them to integrate. You might want to ask Dave if he still has some hoops left. He did make them at one point.
If someone wants to help offset the cost, I could ship them my OE mats so they measure where to cut the holes.
Ricambi has the floor mat anchors and I ordered a set not too long ago from them - they come with the hoops as well as the twist anchors for the floor: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/63698100-carpet-hold-down-set.html Was going to order the Lakewell mats but a set of used OE mats with the rubber heel pads just came up on eBay and I grabbed those. I fitted them this evening. On the driver's mat, the left anchor lines up perfectly, but the right is in a totally different position. Passenger side again lines up with outermost anchor on the right (inner/left anchor is missing so I cannot comment on alignment until I pull the carpet and look for evidence of where it used to be). Given potential variation of anchor placement, probably best that Lakewell is offering them without holes, and we are better off making our own to line everything up.
@OCKlasse - I emailed them asking if they would be interested in a group buy, will post how they respond.
I have 3 OE black sets of mats and they all line up the same on both my GTB’s. I have a blue one (less important to me) that can be sent to lakewell if need be.
The more options the better. The original OE ones are unobtanium and as they get used, will deteriorate over time. For those that have them, I suggest restoring them to the best of your ability and use them on occasion (or put other mats over them). For more frequent use, something like Lakewell should suffice and look OE enough. Just needs hoops .
2 of the black sets are actually NOS. I don’t even dare use them . I only have one used set I use. Here are pics of my blue set. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ferrari-f355-floor-mats.496978/page-2 Lakewell should just buy them from me and constantly use as a reference for positioning the rubber heel as theirs looks off on both sides.
The OE mats have a grainy/rough vynl outer trim. If they can change that detail, that would be a nice touch as well.
I tried to contact Lakewell but they are not answering their phone at the moment Also my mail is unanswered Re the floor mat anchors (or hoops): these are standard sailing boat 'things' I bought some in a boat shop a few years ago, costs only a few €
