It would be worth more if it did not have the Ferrari badge drilled into the deck lid and the cheap shields on the fenders.... I do not understand why anyone would put a Ferrari badge, horse, or script on a Dino.
i would bet good money that this car is NOT among the best 10 in the world! i bet there are 20 over restored dinos out there that are better...at least! hell, omg jon owns 2 of the dinos that are better than the ebay car!
All you are seeing are pictures... I doubt it's a great buy if you get up close and personel with it... No shots of the underneath, seats, engine bay up close...
No that advert said it is one of ten best. Look at the bumbpers, the first photo has large and black when the next pic has chrome one!
The bumpers are actually chrome in all pictures, it is just in a shadow in the one pic that makes them look black. The seller would have done much better to say it was a nice driver, the car looks nice but needs to get rid of all the Ferrari logo's and put a proper radio in it...
true. i would also suspect that to be in the true top 10...the spare would also be an xwx? is that fair?
I think it's a scam. Anyone know the car. There are now several Ebay listings with the same car and spelling errors.
Who created the top 10 best Dino list? How many cars were judged? Who's currently #1? What is better about #10 than #11? How often is the list recalibrated? Did my car make the list? Did your car make the list? Can I start my own top 10 Dino list? Does a top 10 car sell for a top 10 price? Does David Letterman know about and approve of this Top Ten list? It appears that rating your own car one of the top 10 is frought with questions.
not even close. But for that matter, what defines top 10 anyway? And would it be top ten original, top ten restored, top ten refurbished, or some mythical FCA top ten? Pretty brave talk for a car that hasn't been at a coucours in 8 years. I think Sheehan touches on this exact topic in this month's Sports Car Values, or whatever that magazine is called. Says a car that's been driven, or stored, that was a platinum car ten years ago, isn't one anymore unless it's had continual upkeep. This does not look like that kind of car. DM
i think he would be more accurate if he said "one of the top ten dino's in the world that are currently listed on ebay" the steering wheel and horn button are not dino, the door jamb has the engine bay tag mounted to it, it has a quartz clock, ferrari badges, headlight covers, goofy race petals, what the hell is in the radio space?, ad says books but it is a copy of a manual, and why in the hell would the film producer aspect be so heavily mentioned. i think it is a nice car, but i think someone also has a little bit of an idea that the car is something it isn't
In my book 50k miles on any Ferrari is getting into high milage. But a question for the Dino experts. With the Dino market where it is today, is it really necessary to advertise your car on e-bay. Wouldn't you be able to sell the car pretty quickly for fair market value by word of mouth. Also avoiding the weirdo tire kickers and non payers.
I second all of that. You would think if a seller has the moxy to claim top ten they could at least post some decent pictures, so we can see the thing. Love the trophy on the hood shot.
i don't think he has anything to lose on ebay, you see, when you are a movie producer, your car will appeal to a wider audience than justthe normal ferrari crowd
Something is not right... both the red and yellow GTSs on e-bay have the same (wrong) steering wheel with the prancing horse center... same aluminum drilled pedals - I think both of these cars are scams... Pietro Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
i don't know if it is coincidence or not, but i wouldn't be surprised if both actually did. i can't tell you how many times i have questioned the steering wheel of the dino and always wondered why it was so small and flimsy. as for the pedals, they are an easy add on option that make it look faster. the photo's for the red gts appear to be taken at heritage classics in beverly hills. they don't have it on their website, but i am pretty certain that this is the photo location.
I always wonder why people listing expensive items like these don't use spell check or have friends with better English skills help them craft the description???? In any case the car is nice, obviously not one of the top ten though.
Morry, John called and he wants his Dino back, he said he would give you all of your money back and because you are great friends he will not deduct for wear and tear....
For someone allegedly having one of the "10 best Dino's in the world" they sure have one of the WORST CAMERA'S in the world!!! JIM
