yes, I've been waiting for that game too ...
...come to think of it , Ferrari is the only reason I got into videogames and the cause for getting an XBOX in the first place
let's hope they release FORZA soon
in the meantime OUTRUN 2 has a variety of 12 Ferraris to choose from
here's a pic for those who still don't know what Forza is about
    Enjoy!

    Any reason why?

How does it compare to other games such as PGR2?

I liked it some. It's control is weird. When you brake it dosen't brake very good. You can't slide through turns ethier.
But I'm still going to get it.

Interesting. Well, but since one of its main attractions is to tune your car, I'm sure some of these issues can be resolved individually. Probably similar to GT4 on PS2: I usually fit racing brakes, suspension and slicks to the cars before I even attempt a race.

I had the opportunity to play a demo version with the 333 and I also was not particularly impressed. The graphics were good but not particularly better than PGR2 or GT4. The physics were definately different than either of those two games and I really didn't play it long enough to get use to it. These issues could be resolved when the full version comes out in May. I will still definately buy it and I'm glad that they will have 300+ cars.
Also for anyone interested they did an article on Forza in this months popular science (the graphics looked a little funny in the article too).

Forza's look and feel when it comes out will be far superior to the demo disc - trust me ;-)

It is a simulator, so the physics are more stout than PGR. But you guys will go nuts when you fire up an all Ferrari grid on the Nurburgring, online. With custom liveries and car clubs... It's awesome.

    Just a little bit longer!

I hope your right.... I got to drive the 333sp and the Modena. The Modena felt like it was really slow and the 333sp was really fast but the brakes sucked. Like Andrew said, you cant slide through corners and do things like you can in PGR2.

I've driven all the cars in that "class". The Ferrari sounded the coolest, the Viper was the fastest, the Corvette has good accelleration and handling and the Porsche just looks cool.

All the other racing games I play I am really good at. But this game is going to be a challange.

I think the attraction of this game is that the last thing you really want to do is slide through a corner. the physics are supposedly modeled off of each car individually. When everyone brakes real late and thinks the car is not braking well is because that is supposedly how real brakes would react in that situation. I can't personally attest to it, but i'm sure microsoft has enough funds to actually model the handleing and of each car in the game. So in other words, i'f you a master of power slides in PGR then you have a much higher learning curve when forza comes out. Racing lines and balance will probably play a huge part in this game.

How does it compare to Formula 1 simulators such as Grand Prix 4 and F1 Challenge '99-'02 when it comes to physics and handling, including such things at wet weather driving and tyre wear? Those games also have in depth setup and telemetry analysis features.

Admittedly I also use mods and updates which improve the realism of the games beyond how they were out of the box.

What can I expect from Forza Motorsports?

    Thanks.

Your right the physics in the game are going to be second to none as of now GT4 is the most realistic simulator and it recacluates movements 60 time a second FORZA will do it 260x a sec

Oh, please! I play GT4 every day currently and totally love it, but calling it the most realistic simulator? Hell no.

Ohh ohhh Oh! I'm very excited about FORZA, even the name sounds cool :)
I haven't been able to try it just yet, but from what I've read and the vids I've seen it looks to be fantastic. I got my issue of Popular Science and they did like a four page article on Forza. Pick it up, it's very interesting, and the pro driver they got had good praises about it. The graphics I think are better then PGR2 and GT4, and while checking out the screens on the PS of the actual and game I was sad to say fooled! I'm very good at differentiating from CGI to real life, but the visuals are great.

By the way PGR2 is an arcadey type racer and heavily relies on the drifting/kick the back out aspect.
