    Horlick, I know exactly what you're saying, I kind of had a similar experience. But if you like I will keep eyes open here, in fact a friend of mine who has an 1980 Yellow GTB told me if he can find a nice QV, he will sell his Yellow GTB, but it's not carb that's the only thing.

    Thanks for the reply. The 1980-81 cars, aside from having the least powerful engines, were also prone to using the most oil and quite a few received replacements from Ferrari. for that very reason Did they have sodium-filled valves as well? I'm under the impression that the quattrovalvole engines were the first to do away with those worrisome fragile mushrooms. At any rate, if it's a 3X8 GTB, I'm willing to consider all comers.

    You are right on all of those counts. A carbed car and a QV B are all that I would consider but I would really go for a QVB if possible.
