Looks a great example and a very reasonable price considering it wants for nothing.

I really like Dinos in white. This one really looks the part.

After looking at the car, I checked the current exchange rate from GBP to USD and turned a ghostly shade of white myself. Ouch.

Given that this is a RHD car and with the current value of the GBP, I'm guessing this car will find a local buyer.

For future reference, the asking of 360k pounds equates to about $550k US dollars at current exchange rate.

    Chassis number is 03342

By looking at the photos, it looks like the restoration was primarily focused on the exterior and interior surfaces. The engine compartment looks cleaned up but not restored. Also no shots of the underbody. Looks more like a cosmetic restoration. Tool and jack bags look like repros. Nothing wrong with any of it (matter of fact I like cars like this) except for the price, I would expect perfection without any faults.

    Beautiful car.

I have two questions. I AM NOT PICKING. Please educate me.

    1. Is it common for a right hand drive car to have the speedometer in mph not km/h?
    2. The seat inserts have an indented strip running down the center. Is this an original type of seat?

Thanks in advance for the education.

Thank you for the positive comments. This was the first Dino I bought and the original intention was to make it as reliable a driver car as possible so the entire mechanicals were gone through end to end on it and overhauled/restored as necessary.

The list of work done is very comprehensive with the cooling system, suspension, brakes, exhaust, starter, alternator etc all being refurbished or replaced as required. The engine was opened up and found to be in great shape so a full strip down was completely unnecessary. The carbs were overhauled and various parts around the engine bay replated. The airbox lid and air filter housing were powder coated and most of the hoses replaced. The intention with the engine bay was to keep the car as original as possible as it has been well looked after during it's life so I wanted to preserve that rather than paint or plate every item in sight.

I had the car initially repainted in Rosso Chiaro which is the colour I bought it in but after finding the body specialist I used to restore #04054 I was unhappy with the fact that #03342 was not in her original exterior colour and the interior was incorrect in many areas. I had the body stripped and all the surfaces re-profiled to the correct shapes. There was hardly any rust found on the car as it had gone through a major restoration around 1985 and was in very good condition as a result. It has been treated in all the cavities with rust protection wax so is well prepared for a long life.

I had a new vinyl interior and carpet set made by Luppi, recovered the dash in HVL's mousehair, had a radio blanking plate made as the car was delivered new without a radio, mounted the trim and door cards as they were by the factory with the correct black zinc slot head screws, replaced every body seal around the car with the correct profile, fitted new felt to the underside of the trunklid and a new set of trunk carpets, sourced the correct Carrello front headlights, had a new windscreen made, refinished the Cromodora wheels in the satin look silver they came in when new etc etc. The list just goes on and on with lots of small details being returned to the correct spec.

The price was set by the dealer who is selling the car on my behalf. They are a long established Ferrari main dealer in the UK with a good knowledge of the market place. This particular part of their operation is a new venture dealing solely in desirable classics that are presented to very high standards. I have known the guy who is heading it up for many years now and he is a real petrol head and lover of classic cars. His standards are very high and he has turned down quite a few cars offered to him. The price he has set will include the car being taken through the Classiche certification process and is not much higher than a couple of other cars on sale here that are not presented in anything like the standard of my car. A buyer can rest assured that they will have no nasty surprises on the car and should only have the cost of routine annual maintenance as their outlay.

With regard to the questions asked these are the original factory fitted Cromodora wheels on the car. The Dino scripted version only came on late E series cars as discussed in a few other threads. The speedo on all UK cars is calibrated in MPH and this is still the case today. We have never adopted the KPH system. The seat insert strips are correct for a vinyl interior car and were only found on the vinyl covers. Any car with the strip in leather has usually been retrimmed and the trimmer has simply copied the pattern of the vinyl cover they removed. That is also why so many cars that have been retrimmed into leather from vinyl have incorrect one piece door cards with the centre ribbed section pattern being created in stitching to mimic the heat stitched pattern of the original vinyl covers.

If you do not have the Dino Compendium by Mattias I suggest that as an amazing reference to all permutations of the 206 and 246. My 246 #02350 still has the original seats, and I can say that Iain's are spot on.

I actually have two copies of the Compendium but am away from home on vacation and couldn't wait for the answers.
Thank you Isuk and mebowles for the answers. Learn something everyday.
