Anyone watch Discovery channel's top 10 most beautiful cars ever built? Dino 246 was #3, Bugatti #2 and the Jag E type was #1. #1 was questionable in my mind.

IMHO, 246 GT is one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

I would agree with the 3 choices but it would be 246 first, Bugatti and Jag tied for 2nd. That actually depends on which Bugatti it was though

And surely a 250 Europa or 340 America is far more beautiful than a 246 Dino. But hey...

Saw it a few weeks ago. As a person who owns a 65, OTS, e-type I'm bias. But there were many things that in 1961 were way ahead of their time and the shape was done with no wind tunnel and is very aero. Okay enough said, I love Dinos and am trying to find one, but to me neither is even close to being in the top 5 as all-time most beautiful. The Talbo Lagos, Delaheys, Maseratis, Bugatis ect, ect, ect and so many of the cars produced in the 30s & early 40s were just drop dead georgeous IMO. I even like the 275 GTB more than a Dino from a styling standpoint.

These polls are usually about cars which the general public would have possible knowlede of and are popularity contests. Who is to say what the most beautiful painting was of all-time. There is no right/wrong answer.

The most beautiful pre-1980's Ferrari poll running on the Ferrari Owner's Forum (Ferrari's corporate site) shows the Dino as #1 with 22.1% of the votes. #2 is the 330P4

The featured Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic was the newly restored car owned by Dr. Peter Williamson, which won the Best of show award at last years Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance!!!

    Dave,

That 57G may be the only Bugatti I would think twice about owning!
The other Tanks are cool, though.

I've been an extremely good boy this year, and I'm hoping that Santa will leave a 35, 37, or (hopefully) a 43 in my stocking this year...

I spent some up close and personal time with that car a couple of months ago at the doc's garage. Helped him push it out into the street, to winch it to his upstairs work area.

When I asked him where to push, he said, "Anywhere that's not the body." which didn't leave a lot of options.

BTW, this and the rest of his cars are available for tours on Saturdays. If you get out here, I have his # and can give it to you to schedule yourself a tour.

I suppose that this upcoming Saturday may be difficult, but I can be there in no time. :)
    Thank you very much,

I would hardly be able to choose from these two beauties......I like both of them VERY much, but in the end I think I would prefer the Atlantic....after all I'm a Bugattiste :)
Nice car you got there Dave :):):)

We need to talk again about your art. I'll get back to you after the 1st.

IF you'd like, I have several pix of the tank.
