Seriously who would really lay down the bucks for a million dollar car?

I thought id never live to see the day when i would see a production car like the Veyron go for over a million or a car be autioned off for 3million dollars!.

I wouldn't at all, when its over a million thats jet pricing.

If I had the money, of course. How much money in the bank are you talking about? A 917k can get pretty pricey. A 250GTO would be nice, but I don't think I'd drive it as much as the 917 so I probably wouldn't buy one.

If you had to make the money yourself and then pay for a million dollar car would you still go through with it?. Sorry no money at the bank.

It would be nice to have the Philophers Legacy from Metal Gear Solid and buy anything you want. But of course life doesnt work that way unless well you work for it.

I on board with this comment. If I had a high enough net worth and it ws the right car... I would in a minute.

But, where I stand right now, it is hard to imagine.

Yes I would buy a Veyron. They cost something like 5.5 million to make!

Yes. And if I could get away with not having an overly expensive house, I would do it with a lot less net worth than what Andrew says (maybe $10-15mm). Of course, income would have to be substantial even if net worth wasn't $20mm.

    I agree.

Problem for me is I would prefer to own both an F40 and an F50 for $1M, than any single car...

For me, the only car I would currently consider for about $1M would be a 625/500TR (1956, I think?) or for a bit more a 500TRC (1957?)

Of course I would if I could afford it. And by afford it I mean if I was worth 100 million and up. Then drive the car around as much as I could.

    Mclaren F1 or Bugatti Veyron

I would only buy a million dollar car, if and only if, I have the money not just for that car, but also i have money left over for other cars, house, and future family generations ahead.

No way. A million for a car! Right now there is no car made that I want so bad as to spend that much. two hundred thousand, yeah. I'd get a Lambo and Bentley.

Wait, ok, I would buy a million dollar car if I new it were to appreciate. Purely an investment-orientated purchase. Think about crashing your new Mclaren. Yikes.

I would buy one in a second. In fact, I would buy many. I would have to have a high net worth - like 50mil, but I would buy one in a second and use it as my daily driver.

I've never been a big fan of the million dollar production cars, the most expensive road car that I want is a Pagani Zonda F. But, in terms of race cars, if I had the cash, I would snap up a 333SP or Lambo or Ferrari F1 car in a second. Before anyone says anything about the Lambo F1 car, its a me thing, I can't explain.

The good thing is that you probably can snap the lambo powered F1 car for much less than $1m..

Yes pretty much the same here. There are no 1m$ car that i lust for , its either under that mark or well above :)

    A Daytona competizione or a 512 S are worth around $2.5M :(
