Found a '07 w 25k miles. Is that too high, don't want to get killed at time of resale. Also I would like to actually drive the car so I am thinking maybe adding 2-3k miles a year.

Thoughts appreciated. Also found an '05 w 7k miles for about 15k more - but dont like the interior as much.

If the car has a good history, and the price reflects the depreciation for its number of miles, then it may be a better value than the lower mile car, especially since you intend it as a driver rather than a show car/garage queen.

If you have to ask this question, you should maybe look into a Hyundai with 100k warranty. I guess what I'm trying to say is that these cars are completely bulletproff. My 07 has 46k miles and counting. I drive the car everywhere and enjoy it- that's what they're meant for. I'd rather have a properly maintained car with 25k miles than a neglected one with 2.5k

This has been asked many times and each time it's no less ridiculous. Ferraris aren't investment instruments. Any car you buy loses money . Ferrari unusually loses less.

Buy a good car , drive it then when ready to sell let market determine price and move on. The money you feel you lost is the price you paid for the Ferrari experience.

You will get answers of all kinds, as this is a very subjective subjective. That being said, in my opinion, I believe that it isn't too much mileage. As long as it's up to date on service and has records and passes a PPI, I say go for it. Besides, as you've already mentioned, you plan to actually put a decent amount of mileage (at least for Ferraris) on it anyway, so it already having a bit of mileage should be of even less concern.

As Jay alluded to, I'd always take a well maintained and exercised vehicle than one which has been left in a garage most of its life.

25K miles is hardly high mileage as long as the car has been maintained and cared for, 35K miles isn't either. I've seen some 7K cars that I wouldn't think of buying - almost like someone gave it to their irresponsible kid in order to drive their friends to high school.

I wouldn't pay as much as I would for a lower mileage example in similar order. So, yes, put some miles on the 25K one and it and it will lose value, but you would've bought it cheaper too.

thanks. So looking at an 05 w 8k miles and an 07 w 25k miles. The 05 is 15k more. Which makes more sense to pick up?

I just went through the same process and ended up buying an 08 spider with 8K miles for $139K. There were some cars with 20-30K miles for a lot less and some cars with 2-4K miles for a lot more.

For me, I wanted as clean of a car as I could get for the money, but the mileage was not the only factor. I am very happy with what I bought and plan on driving it fairly often. Heck, I put 300 miles on it the first week I had it. Whatever miles I end up putting on it is fine with me. If it depreciates a little more as a result, so be it. I bought the car to have fun and it is a lot more fun driving it than it is looking at it in the garage.

    Good luck with your search!

The higher mileage wouldn't scare me. My 07 has 22k and is doing well. 430s are quite dependable. It had 2K when I bought it. I'm the second owner.

A really low mileage car could have some problems because it simply hasn't been driven enough to work out the bugs so to speak.

What is the price difference again? I have an 05 but the07 will have the newer pump, so most would say go with that. I have never had pump issues but the f1 system is tricky

I just picked up my 06' with 30k miles. I compared it to a 05' with only 7k miles and the higher mileage 430 drove better and even looked like it had less wear overall. I agree with everyone in regards to it just depends if its been well taken care of. I personally prefer the higher miles as I plan to drive my 430 often. I feel better knowing that it has been driven consistently which helped to keep the mechanical parts lubricated vs. sitting for months or possibly years.

I would not pay more for the 05 just because of mileage. Plus higher mileage one is 2 years newer. How is the condition?

I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Buy the car you like more and feel better about.

There is a formula on here somewhere devised by someone more clever than I. Basically deduct about a $1 per mile past 10K .

Buy the one you like. The higher mileage unit is newer and cheaper.

Buy the car u love. Drive the heck out out of it. At 25k the depreciation shouldn't be bad unless you are overpaying by a large margin.

I am at 23k miles. Bought it at 19k miles. Added exhaust and headers recently. Drives freakin awesome. No issues except some electrical gremlins time to time but its normal. Make sure to put a good battery tender like ctek.

Would you be asking the same question if you found a really nice Porsche Twin Turbo S? I doubt it, if you were into Porsche's you'd jump on it with such low miles. In my experience, unless the car has been beat on the track, you'll have better luck with a car that has been driven. Only in America owners fail to drive their super cars. If you want a 9 or 11 year old garage queen, expect problems, if you want a well cared for drive's car, expect enjoyment.

32k and counting on my 06 spider. I drive it pretty much everyday except for winter. Maybe 5k miles per year. No issues here.

As long as the maintenance history and clutch life are good, and the car is priced accordingly - there is nothing wrong with buying a 30k mile example.
