I bought a 2010 car in the uk last march with 46k miles, same equipment and paid £67k. I’d say this car is over priced.

Question I’d ask myself when considering:

    1. When was the last de-carbon service performed?

    2. Have the rotors been weighed to confirm usable life remaining

    3. What is the actual interior leather and soft touch condition

    4. Am I prepared for the possible expense of RHT / DCT repairs if they were to come up ( Have either been addressed before )

The miles themselves don't bother me at all, lack of service history would.

Have a proper PPI performed by a Ferrari inspector.

    Good Luck in your search!

I think the fact that it is well driven may help to reveal any mechanical issues by now. A well maintained and well driven Cali should be a reliable car. I would research on F-chat the big ticket items like the DCT (dual clutch transmission; early Cali had issues with sensors that required replacement of the entire DCT; it can now be fixed, but still expensive) and HTC (hard top convertible).

In any rational cost-benefit analysis, buying a Ferrari is a waste of money. But, buying a Ferrari is not a rational process! :) If your finances are in order, you have fiscal reserves to weather any unexpected repair/maintenance items, and you find one that passes a pre-purchase inspection and floats you boat - go for it!

Make sure to talk to local F-car dealers about service options, assuming you are not doing your own maintenance/repair.

We have an '11 with about 55K kilometers, and the purchase/service/ownership experience has been a total blast.

I agree about the price. Having just spent about every day for a year shopping for a Cali, I feel pretty up on the prices. That price might be a very low mileage pristine 2017 Cali T. Not a 2011 Cali with very high mileage. For instance, there was a nice 2010 Cali for sale this past summer in my area. It sat for months at $100k. So, they are at least double the market rate IMO. Which also would make me question other things about the car. Unless I'm missing something here.

I wouldn’t offer even half that price. There are some nice 2010-12 Cali’s out there for way less, you just have to find them. I bought a 2010 a couple years ago for 85K USD with 35K miles. Has worked out great, and I love the experience every time I get behind the wheel. Good hunting!

Thats definitely a 10 year old car. The price, if in US dollars is 2x the worth. Just look on Autotrader dot com and you can see for yourself.

Gosh, how I wish that identical terms weren’t used for very different things. “Dollar” would be one such term.

That said, it’s pretty as can be, and you’re not gonna get better service advice than from safe4now.

Expectations of condition and chances of repairs needed rise with time on all cars. A car over a decade old gets a different approach in purchase evaluation compared to a new car when I am a buyer. The car appears offered in Australia, the Australian dollar is about 0.67 USD presently. If price is converted to USD and compared to US cars, the asking price is high, but often different countries have different pricing levels. Rather than comparing to cars offered in the US, a comparison of Australian offerings could guide price understanding in that market.

The mileage is not particularly high in the sense that problems for California models don't seem to have much mileage dependence. A friend of mine has around 80,000 miles on his. It is worth looking through threads to identify potential issues like the roof hydraulics/sensors and the DCT. A thorough inspection with potential issues in mind seems in order.

The listing says $219,900 AUD which at current currency exchange rates, is actually $146,662.58 USD.

Ferrari only sold 257 new cars in that country in 2019 vs ~2,900 cars in the US for the same year. I would expect a higher premium due to what appears to be a much smaller supply over there.

In US $$$s - I purchased my 2011 Cali for $112,500 with 21,000 miles. 50k mile units were about 90k last winter. I'd say this car is over priced though availability/market may be different over-the-pond.

I see it is RHD, that will impact your ability to find a good one too. I overlooked it at first. Suggest take a look at the UK market and see if there are lwer mileage options too. It is not so hard to find a company to ship for you. I have a friend who did the same to NZ.
