Damn! I loved my 95 GTI VR6. In fact, I am looking to buy another one with Low Low mileage. You know, to relive the high school days... For me, the worst car by FAR wasa the 2003 VW Passat W8 4Motion Wagon. A really cool sleeper (300 bhp and they only made 1227 for the world) Cost a fortune to keep on the road. More than the 355
What sick sub-species of petty criminal would do that ? Then again, in my old home town there several reported attempts to carjack pedestrians.
Best friend also had a 95 GTI VR6 and had the exact same problems... Engine seized-failed oil pump coil packs second gear went rear lights never worked ac but boy did it sound good!
1986 Isuzu Impulse Turbo... What a POS! 2 replaced engines, 2 gear boxes, 3 clutches, 2 head gaskets, 1 electronic instrument cluster, 1 turbo and a whole mess of other crap I cannot even recall. All this within 40k miles of new! Had the local junkyard pick it up and payed them $25 to do so.
OMG!! Thats so funny cause I had a Pinto hatchback when I was 17yrs old that I paid $50 for, beat the holy hell out of it!! I was actin stupid one day taking a friend home almost missed his exit so I drove it up on the island of the ramp and ripped the oil pan right off of it!! LOL!! I took my tags off and left it!! Best $50 I ever spent........
We had one of those briefly. Second day I had it after buying it brand new on the freeway the headlight popped out of its housing and smacked about the hood for a bit and then broke off. ....Mercedes at the top of its craftsmanship game.
1993 VW Golf - overheated (blown head gasket) - wouldn't start at -15C (used to jump start it with my 1980 Fiat Spider LOL!!!) - wipermotor siezed - engine leaked like a vintage Jaguar - wiper controls were flaky And yet...I still got 1000$ when I sold it...as is...to a mechanic!
2006 Ford Expedition, the worst in the immediate family , it was a toss up between a 76 Cadillac and a 77 Chrysler
worse in what respect? For total "value", my worse car was a 2006 e60 M5. It was fat(>4000 lbs) with a big gas guzzling engine engine...
I can't compete in this contest, what with Vega's and Pinto's and Range Rovers. My wife had peugeot diesel when we got married. A real POS, it finally spit the bit out with a blown head gasket and I traded it in and received credit on floor mats for my new car.
I concur with the problems experienced with the LaForza. Truly awful. In contrast, my Range Rovers have been indestructible(even with quite bit of off road use to get to mountain bike trails). I'd also like to add my Lamborghini Jarama S to the list. There isn't enough bandwidth on this site to list the misery that car caused. Also a couple of Jensen Interceptors-fun cars once they were completely rewired. I guess the Brits don't have any use for relays.
Mercedes CLK, the last benz I will ever own. Aside it from it being a total pos two different dealers couldn't fix it.
What year? What type of problems? I was thinking of getting a used one, 4 seater vert to ride around with the wife and baby on weekends.
I'll chime in. My first car was truly the worst I ever owned. 1983 Renault Alliance L My dad bought it new because it was 1983 Motor Trend Car of the year. It was in the junkyard with 49k miles. During that time we had; Head issues. The steering wheel would simply come off. (Which was great fun as a teenager, I would simply tell my passengers,..DO YOU WANT TO TDRIVE, and hand them the wheel!) The seat belts would detach from the B-pillars. The tie-rod ends detached once. (Wound up in a marsh). The heat was either melt your pants to your skin, or outdoor air. The blinkers would only work if you held the high beam lights on, but you had to give up tail lights.. Those are the ones I remember. My dad was so upset with that car that when a friend of his offered us $250 for it he refused. He told them its not safe for your family.....(never mind it was my daily driver!!!)
Leased 1984 Jeep Cherokee which I turned in early 3 power steering pumps and hoses Pulled shift out of the floor (< 500 miles) Rear end froze due to a major oil leak 3 main seals, oil leaks Inside rear door would not stay in place Turn signal switch Major damage to my driveway My 1974 MG also had its share of issues then new
