Alright guys, Louisiana is a coastal state but we don't exactly have a Highway 1 to hop on and enjoy it. But I know we have some decent driving roads, even sections of long roads, that are our favorites. List em up. Post pics if you have any. Links to Google maps showing the routes would be ideal! And no route is too short or too long. Also try to describe the road conditions too... eg. "perfectly paved" or "a few potholes" or "gravel driveways on occasion so watch out for pebbles", best during XX hours of the day or night, etc. My first contribution: Hwy 61 north through St. Francisville, left at LA 66 / Tunica Trace towards Angola, then veer right on 969 towards Woodville Mississippi. There are some wicked curves, switchbacks and even hills on 969. Once you get to Woodville, just follow Hwy 61 back south to I110. http://tinyurl.com/3ea8vfh http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb379/Smokytyrz/Misc/stfrancisvilledrivingorads.jpg?t=1301856310
This is a map of that area. It's from a bike rider but it's a great car road too. Don't go that way during the Angola Rodeo in October. Massive traffic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
When I hit four Powerballs in a row, I'm buying the Natchez Trace from the Feds. Perfect long distance drive.
