LoD has had some really special muscle cars on the floor. Many "Not for Sale!". :)
My friends in the Texas Air National Guard tell me they've scrambled the fighter jets to intercept his plane and escort it to DFW...
I can't believe I'm the first one home after all the festivities. WTF was I thinking? It was off the freakin' hook.
I made it home OK back to FTW, how is everyone else doing? btw pics will be up later... MUST SLEEP NOW!!!
Please say "hi" to him from me and tell him he doesn't have to come home on monday.......................no problem to stay there another.........eehhhh......6 months??
We had a wonderful time yesterday. I'll post up pictures in the next few days of the Unique visit & LoD. It was great finally meeting some of the Dallas crew that I have not been introduced to, and Wolfgang is just one helluva guy. It really was a pleasure. Hopefully, we'll see you all out at the track on Sunday.
Watch out for that ugly little german guy who is trying to sell you an old Gibson or a classic Vox..............
Guitar show was fun! The plan is that I'll pick Wolfgang up at 7:45 am tomorrow and we'll head over to Rob's house. Rob, if plans change due to weather, let me know.
I'm just now on the computer for the first time today. I think that tells you a little something. The two Rob's were the last ones out of there. It was a classic and memorable night. One great time, I can't post about it, but those that know, know.
Forecast is good up until 3pm when there is chance of strong storms. Maybe Wolfgang can see a Tornado!
I'll be meeting everyone at the track, probably with the 968. I don't want to take the chance of the storms coming early and having the 355 out. The 968 is a 4 speed tiptronic (my wife's car), so its slow but it should be fun anyway. The weight balance is excellent and makes it fun to toss into corners. Major problem though is that it does not rev-match on downshifts, meaning I get a little wheel spin and hop on the rear end. I may have to give up some space on the outer edge of the track to keep the car from hoping off-track. I will have my chatterbox radio with me so if anyone wants a slow trip around the track, I can talk someone through the line and explain where I am supposed to be.
Want me to bring a small wire feed welder, my helmet, and some pieces of scrap metal to play with between sessions? Or do they even allow you to do that in your garage stall?
what a day what a day what a weekend. we are finally home. I'll post pictures later, and would also like to setup an ftp site for others to upload their unedited/un-resized pictures to.
Wolfgang is a true class act, it was an excellent visit & Im looking forward when he comes back later this year. I want to go ahead & post some of the photos from Friday LoD meet, dinner & todays event at MSR. Other pics will be posted later. Enjoy. You guys (and gals) look like you were way too polite. Seriously, let's cause some talk and suspicion here. I'm expecting nothing less than a serious international incident. Come on Rob. Let's drop this preacher's son stuff and rock 'n roll. We know that you can do it. Dale
Enjoying a Shiner Bock (or 6) at the hotel bar. Wolfgang was kind enough to give my brother a VIP pass to the guitar show, he joined us after it was over. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
