Anyone have the Diagram from the compressor to the harness? Seems I have no power to the compressor.I did check the relay,Fuse ,switch. With the key on and a/c on Fan is opperating.Yes I know it's too cold to have the A/C on but since the Weather is nice here in North FL,I thought I'd try my hand at a few small problems which happened over the Summer.

Before you get to wrapped up with the schematic have you verified that you have a full charge of freon. If you are low there is a low pressure switch located near the receiver/dryer and it will not send +12v to the compressor clutch. This is located in the front under the hood and the cover. It would be on the passenger side. If you jumper this switch it will turn on the compressor but you don't want to do this for a long time. Check it out first.

Harry wants to get wrapped up in the schematic, let him. I do agree about the freon pressure. But first, the radiator fan should come on proving +12v is available to the pressure switches and not just a connector popped off the thermostat which has happened especially after fooling about in the center console. Then the pressure switches must be within operable pressure before clutch will operate. GL

Sorry i did not add that, the Freon pressure is at 40 psi.I cannot find any technical info on how much or too little pressure the system needs to operate. Thanks for the Drawing Paul.

    Harry,

Not sure if this is your situatuion, but once you verify you have some pressure, and then conclude its an electrical/power problem, I went though a similar problem just a week ago (on another car), where the culprit was the stupid temp control box usually, near the evap.

I did so much troubleshooting, I even opened up the circuitboard and cut open the relay inside. Found out the relay was not clicking well. When I realized it was impossible to buy a replacement, I gave all the wires a vasectomy, andf bougt locally a 2 prong evaap thermostat for $7. (they are programmed to cut off at 32 deg F).

Spliced in the power feed from control knob/switch, and then the outbound red wire to the relay. Bingo.

Still, just a though....it may or may not apply to you. But it COULD happen to you in the future if you have a circuitboard/relay.

PIPO - Can you elaborate more on the location of the "stupid temp control box" within a 308?
And is the significance to temperature (cutoff at 32F) in order to prevent condensate from freezing at the evaporator?
I thought this was the 'Temp Control' knob on the center console with a long tube (which I broke).

Not sure what you mean here, Paul. You have a long probe at the console? Near the control switch/knob???

Hope Ive been of some help......

(oops.....I goofed on quoting and replying to parts of your post-seems I have to figure this out. But, read all above and youll see my replies mixed in with the shadowed quote....LOL)

PIPO - read and understood fine. My a/c clutch is also inop and I broke the tender tube which comes out of the ac temp switch and heads to the evap. The evaporator area is beyond my ability to either see or reach so I shorted across the switch to no avail. I'm reluctant to buy a new temp control as I would be unable to snake the tube to where it belongs. I've avoided a/c all of my life so it's of little importance.

Hoping for favorable results in another thread about how to gain access to the evaporator.
    Thanks for replying.

OK, Paul. Wish I could be of more help. Yeah, the tech forum has a thread on evap right now......with good info on pulling one. Apparently, its easy as pie, since you wont have to yank the dash (sheesh, why couldnt i be that lucky-3 times!!!!)

Good luck! Oh, when you got it all done, youll have to consider the right gas to put into it. Lots of room for discussion here, hehe!!!
