Ok so as im looking over my 8 and making my winter project list, i found a few things that i could use some advice on. 1. the drivers seatbelt is slow to retract sometimes and won't at all others. How do i remove the panels /pads to access it ? Are there any diagrams anywhere? 2. When i change the transaxle oil, isnt there shifter bushings that should be changed as well? I plan on removing the sump gasket and looking inside. (Read about them being problematic and it may explain my random sticking in gear issue?) 3. What has everyone been doing for repairs on a rotted trunk subfloor above the muffler? 4. Can the European speedo (in Kmh) be wired for MPH or will i have to swap it for a US version? If so where is the sensor? 5. Does anyone make good cupholders for these cars? Need a place for my coffee ! any advice or links would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Good info here on transaxle oil. Most important, remove filling plug first! Not draining plug. They can be difficult and IF you can only drain, not fill, well.... Changing the gear oil on a Ferrari 308 or Mondial /Peter
I got this cup holder insert, $30. I got the black, available in clear too. Since the change bin where it fits tends to get warped over time, I had to straighten it out a bit and I also secured the cup holder insert with a couple of dabs of black silicone. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/431277-mondial-cupholder.html Alden
To add a little clarity for those who may not read Birdman's excellent info, there are three plugs....a fill plug, an overflow plug and a drain plug. In the event the fill plug won't budge but the overflow plug can be removed, you can still change fluid out by pumping new fluid in through the OF port. Better that than not changing fluids at all. FWIW, Redline MTL improved cold shifting in my QV tremendously. Brock
